Quick tutorial on Scallop border

I thought I write a quick tutorial on how to use the corner punch to make a scallop border. I am sure most of you know how it works, but it’s always nice to have a visual.

1. Step one:

Take the guard off the corner punch.

Step two:

Take your border strip, face your punch upward. Line it up with the end of the paper and punch.

Step three:

Slide your punch over and line the beginning of the second scallop up with the end of the first one. Punch.

Step four:

Continue to slide your punch over until your border is finished. Easy Peasy!

Technique Challenge: Blurred Vision

I am so excited about today’s technique challenge. I have never done this style of watercoloring before. It’s so easy and fun! Stamp your image in classic ink and trace the lines with your aqua painter so they bleed. I love it! I will be doing more of that!!!!

I picked the teddy from Bundle of Joy to try the technique. I stamped it in chocolate, because, well….I love chocolate chip. A year or so ago, I had to use black in each of my cards. Now it’s chocolate chip. I went over the lines with my aqua painter and added just a tad more color from the ink pad. I added doodle lines matching the border stamp from that set with the chocolate chip marker. Next I punched it out this sweetie out with the big circle punch from Marvy Urchida and layered it on the matching Scallop circle punch from MU.

For the certainly celery strip I stamped the border stamp twice in chocolate chip.Julie Buhler has created the cutest border with this set. She highlighted the stars with the white gel pen. I thought that was the cutest thing. I went a little nuts with the gel pen, but I thought it still worked.

On another blog someone mentioned that they used the small corner rounder to make scallop edges. I had completely forgotten about that. I really like the way it looks. All you have to do is take the corner guard of the punch, and punch one scallop next to the other.

I love the Petals & Paisleys Designer paper from the Spring mini catalog. I can’t help myself. I had to use it again. It’s sooo pretty.

For the saying I used the watercoloring technique again and added a touch of Cool Carribean ink in the heart.

I am having so much fun stamping and blogging! Thanks for hanging out with me!

And the winner of my first blog candy is……….

lucky-winner-blog-candy_1.jpg The 25th poster. Right after I woke Rebecca up this morning I told her to pick a number between and 243. I told her she should make a picture with that number on it. She didn’t tell me the number and went off to her craft table. She still had her dauber finger paint out and went to work.

I asked her why she picked 25 and not a lower or higher number. She said it was her lucky number. It’s also the lucky number for Diane McVey. She is the winner! Diane, please contact me with your mailing address so that I can get those goodies to you.

After she got dressed we went outside to take this picture. She is laughing so hard because it’s still very fresh out here  at 8:00 a.m. and the grass is wet with dew. She had so much fun picking the number, making the sign and taking this picture. I will definitely have more blog candy coming up. Lucas wants to do the picking next.

My next blog candy will be posted after I hit 10,000 posts.

Thank you all so much for all the sweet comments you left. I am so overwhelmed from all your compliments! I love stamping, sharing my work and all the people I meet because of it! You are all wonderful! Thanks again.

Now I need to get my kids ready for school, strip the beds, start the laundry, vaccum the house and then…stamp, what else!

Have a great Monday morning. Hugs and smiles
