Trifold Mania continues with color challenge
Today’s color challenge was easy! Sharon Harnist picked colors that are in the Petals & Paisley designer paper. You all know how much I love that paper. The colors were So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Regal Rose with optional Chocolate Chip. I don’t know about you, but Chocolate chip or Basic black are not optional to my cards. They are a MUST.
Because of Dawn Griffith I had to get the stamp set Crab & Company. It just arrived yesterday. I knew that was the set I wanted to use and I knew I wanted to make another trifold card. So here is what I came up with:
I love how happy all the stamps in this set are. I am particulary partial of this little starfish.
I stamped the crab in brown stazon. Then I masked his upper body and first stamped the hat. Then I masked that as well and sponged the wavy background with cool caribbean. I cut myself a wave template out of scrap paper, layed it over the image, sponged, moved it a bit and sponged again. I kept on doing that until the top 2/3 of the image were sponged. I colored the crab with aqua painter and Regal Rose, the sand with so saffron. Then I added a few highlights with the white gel pen.
The little starfish is stamped on white in brown stazon, colored with so saffron marker and punched out with a 3/4″ circle punch. I layered it on a 1″ celery circle and doodled some lines around it.
The little gift is stamped in brown stazon, colored with Celery and Saffron markers and cut out.
I inked up first only Snappy then only birthday and added it to the corners of the image. I layered the stamped image on chocolate cardstock and cut along the left pincher to slide the present in.
I really like how this turned out! Someone will get a snappy birthday card!
Now I have to go vaccum and clean floors.

I love this set and will have to be ordering it next! I have a question. Do you start with 4×12 paper for your tri-fold? Then the finished card is 4×4, right? What do you use for an envelope then and does it require extra postage? Thanks!

Beate - I have to add that this one of the cutest cards I have seen since Jana has me “Hooked on Blogs”. Being a Maniac (Maine native) who loves anything “beachy” — it is just perfect. If you still have it in a month - Jana is an “Income Tax Deadline” birthday girl!!!! Susibella PS I didn’t enter for candy, but my answer has to be Baskin Robbins Nutty Coconut ice cream.
