SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got my mail! I got smacked so hard, I heard angels sing. Oh my goodness. Look at my treasures. I am one lucky girl!!!!! Starting a blog and the blogger RAK club really brought me so much fun and joy, not to mention so many new blogging friends. I am feeling really blessed!

rak-from-alli.jpg

Look at this beauty! It has it all. Cuttlebug embossing, die cuts, heat embossing, glitter….and all those brads! I am speechless. This card came all the way from England. Sweet Alli send it to me.

Now look at this gorgeous card. All that coloring, cutting and the beautiful ribbon and scallop border….Charmaine send this card. She is such a sweetheart and makes the cutest cards!!!!

And this card is from Lori. She knew I was drooling all over my screen when I saw it on her blog and send it to me. She is such a dear online friend of mine. I sure hope I will meet her on one of the future SU events! I just love her to pieces…skw (stamping kind of way) of course.

Make sure you check out their blogs. All three are wonderful artists and I love their work! Thank you so much Alli, Charmaine and Lori. You so made my day! I was doing a crazy happy dance all the way back from the mailbox and oohed and aahed when I opened the envelopes.

Sweet man alert! Look what Rick did for me. He picked up the flower buds that fell of our gorgeous bush in the backyard and put them in a small bowl with water. He wanted to put them in the middle of the table during stamp camp. Sweet man doesn’t understand that once we start stamping, there is total chaos on the table and that the table size seems to shrink. I put them on the counter instead. Just another moment today that made me go aaahhhhhhhhhh…..my life is good!

Cami Trifold tutorial

cami-trifold-supplies.jpg

Supplies needed:

  • One piece of cardstock 4″ x 11″ long (here Cool Caribbean)
  • Paper cutter with cutting and scoring blade
  • adhesive
  • stamps
  • ink
  • punch to make window (here 1 3/8″ square punch)
  • slit punch
  • ribbon

cami-trifold-step-1.jpg

Step one:

Score your cardstock at 3 1/2″ and 7″.

cami-trifold-step-2.jpg

Step two:

Prefold your scores.

cami-trifold-step-3.jpg

Step three:

Slide a punch of your choice into your center panel and punch a window in the center of that panel.

cami-trifold-step-4.jpg

Step four:

Stamp your center panel.

cami-trifold-step-5.jpg

Step five:

Add additional framing around your window if wanted.

To make this frame, I first used the same square punch I used to make the window in the card front on black cardstock. Then I lined my Marvy scallop punch up around the punched out square and punched out the frame.

cami-trifold-step-6.jpg

Step six:

Stamp your center image and layer if necessary.

cami-trifold-step-7.jpg

Step seven:

Add adhesive on the back of your main image.

cami-trifold-step-8.jpg

Step eight:

While holding your card and your main image, center the image behind your window.

cami-trifold-step-9.jpg

Step ten:

When the image is centered, fold your right card panel over to adhere the image to that part of the card.

cami-trifold-step-10.jpg

Step eleven:

Fold your left card panel over. Slide your slit punch in so that the half circle is a little under the card fold. Punch your slit.

cami-trifold-step-11.jpg

Step twelve:

The half circle of the slit punch will keep your card closed.

cami-trifold-step-12.jpg

Step twelve:

If you would like to add ribbon, punch a hole in the half circle of your slit punch. Just make sure the hole is not hitting your fold over card.

cami-trifold-finished.jpg

Step thirteen:

Thread your ribbon through the hole and tie a bow. You are done!

Have fun with it! Play around. Add a second slit punch on the top. Just tie ribbon through the hole and not around the card. Change the measurements…..Anything goes. These are so much fun!

Oh Happy Day

I had a great time with the ladies from Stamp Camp. Today six stampers came, a new record for me in Niceville! After they left and I had cleaned up, I had this main image sitting on my table from the card I made. It just didn’t look right with the tall trifold, but I didn’t want to toss it out. So here is the card I made with the recycled image:

you-make-me-happy-three-hap.jpg

Whenever I used the You make me Happy stamp set, the song “Oh Happy Day” pops in my head!  The flowers are stamped with Pixie Pink and Cool Caribbean on whisper white cardstock that had been stamped with So saffron and the background stamp first. The stem is the long thin saying from the set. I outlined the flowers, stems and leaves with the brown marker. I sponged the edges of the cardstock with so saffron and layered it on Chocolate chip cardstock.

I tied a bow with celery organdy and white grosgrain ribbon and added my dragonfly circle underneath.

The dragonfly is stamped in pixie pink on whisper white cardstock and cut out. I then only taped her body to the so saffron 1 1/4″ circle so I could bend the wings upward a bit.

The patterned paper is from the Petals & Paisleys Designer paper. I can’t help it. I have to use the new designer paper on every card! Help! I am obsessed. It’s just so pretty. I don’t even put it away now. It’s sitting right next to me on my stamp table.

The bottom corners of the layers were punched with the ticket punch and a saffron brad was added to each corner of the chocolate cardstock base.
