a-day-at-the-beach.jpg

Just in case you are wondering where my newest creation is…. I haven’t stamped today.

The kids and my husband are home today. I got up early to get my Splitcoast work done. Then I went to buy flowers for the front yard. I found some Plumbago and multicolored Lantanas that reminded me of my old home in Texas. We planted those and then we went to the beach.

It was in the mid seventies and the sun was shining. Traffic is horrendous because many states have spring break already. A lot of college kids spending theirs in Destin. We still had a blast. While the water was too cold for me to go in more then to my calves, the kids and Rick braved it and went in all the way.

I was working hard on my tan….while Rick and the kids dug a big hole. Their favorite past time at the beach.

Have a wonderful day. Hugs!

Then we all went to the beach

Beate

  1. Lucky you! 🙂 And I thought we were lucky here with the temp in the upper 50’s! LOL Enjoy your day!

  2. Beate – you’re just mean, mean, mean! Lucky for you we have sunshine today or I’d have to contact some people I know in Jersey and have them deliver a message to you in person!

ps. – in case anyone monitors the SCS blogs for threats, I’m only kidding!

  3. Are you saying you’re at the beach in Destin?!?!? OH man am I jealous. We vacationed there a couple years ago, and the beaches were so wonderful. 🙁 I wish I had my toes in the sand today! But we did have 70+ degrees here in Colorado, so that will have to do… Good for you for taking the time to enjoy!

  4. Oh you are making me miss the Florida beaches! I’m always too cold to go to the beaches out here…chills my bones!

  5. I’m dying laughing because we were jumping for joy that we could venture out without snowboots, hats, mittens etc. We celebrate about 40’s and 50’s here in Massachusetts! Soak up that sand for me. I’m counting the days to our family vacation next month in Disney! I can almost feel the sunshine on my face, and the sand between my toes!

  6. That photo is so tempting! I’d love to be at the beach right about now!

  7. That photo is so tempting! I’d love to be at the beach right about now. Have a great day!

  8. I wish my toes were right there next to yours with a fresh coat of polish–screaming bright red! We did have 70 degrees here in Nebraska today, so I did get out to take my puppies for a walk. Good for you, I hope you had a great, relaxing day!

  17. You talk about ME being mean??? This is just downright spiteful! 😉 I think I miss the beach more than ANYTHING right now. Oh well…I’ll be strolling the beach in Barcelona in another month – after spending Easter weekend shopping in Paris! 🙂

  18. Loved that you took a break yesterday!!! My three girls were off..and the day was perfect so after running the errands we spent the day playing outside. We luckily have a playground right out back and too too many outdoor toys, so the girls pulled them all out and played. The Princess jeep died because mommie didn’t charge the battery..oh well, but they made the best of it! Glad to see..you had a great day!

  19. What a great day to get away. Planting flowers in March, I can’t even imagine. Here in Wisconsin we are experiencing a brief period in the high 50’s — say it may hit 65 today. By Thursday back to a high of 34 and rain/snow mix…..

I love your beach picture — makes me think of summer yet to come!

  20. I tried to comment last night, but the verification thing wasn’t happy with my mac. I couldn’t see the letters!

You know I just love the feet in the sand! HUGS and see you soon!

  21. and ps, thanks for putting the Mamas and Papas in my head! Monday, Monday. . .hum along with me!

  22. Beate you need some polish on those toes!!! I am soooooo jealous that it is that warm there!!!! Thanks Jenn for the Auditory “visual”…I’m singing!!!

  23. I’m not quite sure which to be more jealous of… you at the beach, or you planing flowers! I could show you a picture of my toes with snow all over them!

  24. I am so jealous that you are at the beach in the beautiful sand!!! That is my favorite place to be but we don’t have a beach in St. Louis. Enjoy relaxing and soaking up the sun.

  25. Beate what a great pic… I wish I was at the beach 😉

  26. Ooooooh, looooook at the waaaater. *dreaming* Beautiful! And look at those cute tootsies! I think the colors in that photo would work well on a card, eh, Miss Beate? 😉

  27. Tears are running down my face as I look at that beautiful white sand. You are so close to my home I can’t stand it. It was beautiful here near the mountains, but nothing…. NOTHING compares to beautiful Florida. OH how I miss it.

I will live vicariously through you my dear friend. Thanks for sharing that picture!!!

  28. Hey, that picture isn’t fair!! We are just getting rid of INCHES of ice and snow!!

  29. I love your pictures! I spent ten years in Pensacola, Florida. . . Those were the days! Taking a travel alarm clock to the beach on Saturdays about 10AM to wake up and flip every hour. (Yeah, I know–bad idea, but I was reckless in those days!) You enjoy every minute you can on that beautiful beach!

  30. wow that is just too pretty. I want to go there!
