Bind it all … Learning curve

Joanne Basile contacted me earlier this week and asked if I could make a card for her Breast Cancer Fundraiser. I decided to make a little pink book with my new Bind it All.

I got heavy weight coasters out and glued Fancy Pants Patterned paper on  with Mod Podge. After adding a layer of Mod Podge over the paper, I wanted to punch holes through it. Well….heavy coasters don’t go in the Bind it all! I couldn’t believe it. I tried to squash the coaster in there, but they wouldn’t budge. I was a bit stumped. I really liked the cover I had made.

I finally used my eyelet hole puncher and made two holes close together.  Now question to you? Should I wait until I have medium coasters and make it again, or do you think I could still send it to Joanne.

Papers and stamps are Fancy Pants. The light brown ink is Gingerbread VersaMagic DewDrops, the black ink is Versamagic Dew Drops as well. The pink color is acrylic paint dauber from Adironacks. May Arts Ribbon is from Starlitstudio. Ink and Stamps are from Eclectic Paperie. Bling is from Michael’s $1 bin.

The rest of the day I was working on my secret stamping. I am almost done! My goal is to finish up tomorrow! I am so excited about that, I am smiling from ear to ear. It’s so nice to see the finish line on a big project!

Judith Novak Says: Beate,
Congratulations on all the hits. Your blog is amazing as will as the wonderful tutorials you post on SCS. Thanks for all your time and effort.

I guess I’m old fashioned. My favorite type of card is still the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 format. I’ve experimented with some of the folded formats, for example the diagonal tri-fold and the tea or goodie pouch tri-fold and enjoy these for special occasions.

Congratulations Judith! Please contact me. Although I have a link to your blog, I don’t have your email address to contact you and I can’t post comments on your blog.

Thank you all for playing. Make sure you come back soon. There will be more Freebies at 150,000.

Hugs and smiles

Two birthday cards and one BIG WOW

Yesterday I got two more birthday cards in the mail. But what I want to show you first is the GORGEOUS present Jenn Balcer, my bestest friend, has send me. She is an amazing artist! If you haven’t checked her blog yet, do so. She will blow your socks off.

Isn’t it amazing?Jenn started my obsession with Brighton Jewelery last year when we were on our way back from the Leadership conference in Memphis. Since then I purchased (lets just say) a few Brighton pieces. LOL She send me the Texas bracelet. Brighton has special bracelets for certain States. Those you can only buy in that particular State. I had send her the Florida one on her birthday back in February.

Check out the amazing inside of that DVD container. Because it’s metal, she could add little magnets (the small flowers on the left and clippy on the front). She also added cute paper clips and bling on the notepad. What more could a girl want! Jenn, you are the BEST!!!!

P.S.: Rick saw it and now wants one with Air Force colors and emblem. Thanks girl! LOL
