Just in case you were wondering what I wasup to this morning, I took this picture:

Every quarter I send out a card and the newest inspiration sheets to all of my first downline members.  I got the inspiration sheets almost a week ago. I felt so guilty, I had to make cards today. This card is not new, but I really love it and thought my downline might enjoy owning their own copy. I used the Petals & Paisley Designer paper in Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Cool Caribbean. All three look really pretty, at least I think so.

It’s a fast card to make, except for the paper piercing. My poor shoulder is a bit sore after making 26 of these.

I just got back online after working on these beauties all morning and saw a report about the massacre in VA. My thoughts and prayers go out to the students and the families of enrolled students there.

  1. This is simply beautiful. I’m sure they’re going to love it. I would like to also say to everyone at Virginia Tech your in our prayers. Dottie

  2. When I’m piercing straight lines, I just cheat and use my sewing machine (with no thread). I like to sew, so it’s kind of fun for me. Is a coincidence but I need to make a few cards (around 40) for Thursday, so I’m case(ing) your card. I will simplify it a little. Thanks for all the wonderful tutorials. Sandra

  3. My heart hurts for all those kids and families. It is a horror I hate to think could happen to any family!

As for your card…You can even make a fairly simple card look amazing!!! Just yummy!

  4. What a simple and beautiful card!
My heart aches, my eyes weep, and I say prayers for all at Virginia Tech and their friends and family. This is such a heinous crime!!

  5. Great cards, B — love the layout!

  6. What darling little creations!

  7. Love the cards…simple but oh so SWEET!

    You are a very kind upline :}

  8. I didn’t have to tv, the redio or even the computer on another site before I saw this so the news about V-tech was a shock. I can’t get my mind past that to think of an adjective for your cards.

  9. that’s awesome that you do that for your dl! sweet! 🙂

  10. LOVE THEM!!!! I am CASEing!!!

  11. Pretty card! My VA Regionals SCS Dinner swap card has 2 lines of piercing like that so I can totally ID with you!

I have a 2nd cousin at VA Tech… She’s an Engineering student. She overslept this morning and didn’t make it to class. The shootings were mostly in the Engineering Hall… I don’t know if she would have been there if she had gotten up on time, but I’m SO thankful she’s safe and sound. I can’t begin to imagine what those families and friends must be going through…

  12. The cards look awesome..I might have to consider becoming one of your downline..just so I can get cool cards!! About what happen at VT. The babies and I had taken our van for an oil change..and while we were in the lobby waiting for it to be done..it comes on the news. At first I didn’t think it was current. Just something on the news…just a note..i am not a huge news watcher..but then they said live from the scene..my eyes shot up to the screen. I have a few friends that attend school..not just go there..they are in the engineering school! I called my mom right away. She said she had spoken to all the moms of my friends..everyone was fine! Luckily..three of them are stuck in an airport..trying to get to Boston for a Engineering thingy. It is just to hard to believe!!

As to what happened in VA, I just don’t know what to say, but they are in my thoughts and prayers.
