In this game, I tell you 7 things about myself that you might not know and then I tag 7 other bloggers who can play if they want to!
I was tagged by my sweet friend Charmaine, Alex (aka. Sillybird), Kimmie, Diane, Joanne , Susanna and Susan.
You wanna know how much of a nerd I am and always was? You might regret having tagged me. LOL…. Here I go:
- I was a total tomboy. The little town I grew up in only had two sport clubs. Soccer and PingPong (Table tennis). I only hung out with boys and always played soccer (think short hair, always dressing and acting as a boy, definitely not owning ANY dolls). But I was not allowed to play on the team. They didn’t have girl teams back then. That didn’t sit right with me at all. So….
- I played table tennis from the time I was ten until I moved to theStates. I played in Leagues (highest was one under State level) and tournaments. I trained kids and was youth leader for my club. I practically lived in the gym. Besides family and friends, that is one thing I miss most about not living in Germany. It was such a big part of my life.
- I like to do German crossword puzzles. Can’t manage with the American version, but LOVE working on German ones. I also like logic puzzles and sudeko.
- I played the accordion. (And here you thought I couldn’t get any nerdier then crosswords and ping pong). My parents were into German country music. So while growing up I thought playing the accordion was actually cool. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!
- I wore glasses. Big round glasses since I was eleven. I had lasic surgery when I moved to San Antonio and I LOVE it!
- I was class president of my class from 5th until 10th grade.
- I worked in the school library from 11th to 13th grade. And no…I am not a slow learner. High school in Germany goes until 13th grade.
I think most people have been tagged with this game already. I will pass on tagging others. I hope you got a chuckle out of my “nerdiness”!

lol I loved sports when I was a kid, too! My favorite was dodge ball. I loved it! You played an accordion?? Too cool, I think! How many people can say that??
So you love lasik? I’m tempted!
Whoa…and I thought I was a nerd…grins! How about three rows of teeth, braces for six years, big glasses (like Sally Jessy Rafael) and a perm…oh yeah, I was rocking!
We would have been GREAT friends! LOL I played soccer from 8 years old until at 12 my ballet instructor told me I had to quit because it builds different muscles than ballet. I always WANTED to play accordian. Tried to teach myself, but that didn’t really work! LOL
Wow! I didn’t know you were from Germany. Never been there but my cusin lives there. I would love to go there and visit the beautiful castles by the Danube. BTW I am from Hungary… :o)
Hi Beate! Where in Germany do you come from? I’ve had a pen-friend in Germany since I was a young girl, curious if you grew up near her. 🙂 She’s from Hauenstein, a small town sort of near Kaiserslautern. I’ve been to Germany a couple times to visit her, absolutely love it! Both times I’ve gone in May, during Spargel season – YUM! 🙂
I don’t think you nerdy at all. I love that you are so versatile and interesting. Congratulations on the ping pong achievements, there must be some place near by that you can get a game in once in a while, no? TFS.
