Totally behind….Monday challenge
I had to try Monday’s technique challenge. I had never tried Mulberry Batik before. It’s definitely not my favorite card I ever made, but it’s the first one created in my new stamp room.
I stamped the gorgeous tree branch from Artfully Asian on Mulberry paper with Versamark ink and embossed it with clear ink. Next I colored the flowers with Rose Red, the leaves with Certainly Celery and all around with Brocade blue and aqua painter. While the Mulberry paper was still wet I tore the edges. Then I put it between two sheets of copy paper and ironed over it to take off the embossing powder.
I glued the mulberry paper on a piece of white cardstock with crystal effect. While the crystal effect was still wet, I added dazzling diamond glitter over it .
My card base is a 5 1/4″ square card. I layered a 5″ square of BasicGrey Perhaps paper over it. The green paper is from the Stampin’ Up! Enchante designer paper pack. I added some lines on the green layer in white and black to mimic the lines in the BasicGrey paper.
I will have to stamp more later. It’s already noon and I didn’t get my daily dose of sunshine yet! Last night was rough. Lots of coughing and snotty nose! Backyard time will make me feel better. Maybe I can even take a quick nap. Austin will be home in 2 hours…so I better get my bootie out there!

I didn’t try this technique as it’s not really me, but your card is nearly forcing me to be braver, lol. This is beautiful, so soft and dreamy. I have missed your cards over the last couple of days.

I think it’s a beautiful card Beate! That Basic Grey Paper is gorgeous but I really like how it showcases the Artfully Asian stamp. That’s one set on my wishlist!

This is without compare one of the most beautiful cards I’ve ever seen. I’ve never worked with Mulberry paper, but you’re making me want to try. Lovely, lovely, lovely. This is the sort of thing I would frame for my room.
Thanks for sharing. I’ll be putting my credit card in the freezer in a bag of ice to keep from running to Michaels immediately for paper….

Your card is stunning - I love how all the details work together (pattern in the paper with the flower stamp, the lines you added, and the small green circle with leaves). I’m going to try this layout - just need to find beautiful paper to work with!
