I had this card done yesterday afternoon, but couldn’t decide on a sentiment. I didn’t want to use the regular good old….Happy Birthday or Thinking of you. All I could come up with was….

  • Plow Away
  • You plowed me over

So this morning I emailed Charmaine from Oodabug Alley. I knew she would be able to come up with something good. She was playing around with track, plow and crop and thought of “Oh Crop! I missed your birthday!”. I cracked up and knew I wanted to use the crop thing. So here is my card.

I did like “Glad I tracked you down” as a card too. It just limits you more to who to send the card to. (Would be a great card for a head hunter though).

This card started out because I just got my Copic Ciao marker from Kim at My Favorite things Friday afternoon. She has a great deal going on. I still had my A Muse Stamps on the table and stamped the little tractor (3-4100C) in black Palette ink on whisper white cardstock. Then I played around with my Markers. I am a little overwhelmed with all the markers I have now (144!!! I got them all and am definitely broke now). I do like the way they color. I will have to play and experiment more with them.

I kinda liked how my image came out and thought it was nice enough to turn into a card. I cut around it leaving about 1/4″ white all around and distressed the cardstock with Stampin’ Up!’s cutting tool kit. I layered it on close to cocoa cardstock and distressed that one as well.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of basic black cardstock. On top is a patterned paper from A Muse. It was a card, but I messed that up with a stamping project who knows when and had only this part left over.

The center layer is Old Olive that I dry embossed with the cuttle bug. I sponged Old Olive all over the dry embossed part, distressed the edges and sponged those as well. I tied May Arts ribbon around it.

Oh Crop!!! is stamped with Karen Forster small casual snap stamps. Thanks soooo much Charmaine! That totally made this card!

The layout is from A Muse’s third challenge. You still have time to enter until the end of tomorrow.

If you guys have some good suggestions for sentiments for this stamp, please let me know.

  15. Too cute and that is a great sentiment. Had a quick question, what makes Pallete ink different?/better?

I think I used it about a year or two ago but that was before I knew one ink from another, lol.

  21. wow… Beate this is soooo cute!
i wish i could talk english just half as good as you do! i would never even came up with the sentiments you thought of. i loved them too.

Beate… i dont know there must be SOMEWHERE a comparison from the copic Markers to the Prismacolor Markers but i havent seen it yet.

Can you give us a explanation why you got those markers and not Prismacolors? i am thinking about to buy markers cause i dont even have the SU ones but i am seriously a bit overwhelmed about all the options.
The reason why i did not buy the SU markers so far was cause i dont like that they look so bright but the way you colored the image it doesnt give that look with the copic markers. is there a special technique how to use them?

    thank you
    claudi
