Happy Birthday Joy!!!

Eclectic Paperie started sending out weekly newsletter a little while ago. If you haven’t signed up yet, hop on over and do so.  Since I send you over to the store all the time, I thought I share the great discount code in this weeks newsletter post:

“ Joy’s birthday is Monday and we decided the best way to celebrate would be to give everyone 10% off all merchandise starting Friday, May 25th and continuing until Monday(11:59pm PST), May 28th.  So go ahead & eat cake, and buy a present … for yourself.  Just use discount code “Cake4Joy“.

You must use the discount code(Cake4Joy) at checkout in order to receive the promotional offer.  This offer does not apply to the purchase of gift certificates.”

Let’s make beautiful music together

That’s what I wanted this card to say at first….but then decided to use a different sentiment, so I could be able to actually send the card away. This little monkey does look a bit lecherous though with his tongue hanging out…what do you think? To me he looks like he wants to monkey around!

I just love these monkey images. I stamped  my little guy with Black Palette ink on shimmery white cardstock. I colored him with aqua painter and classic ink pads: Close to Cocoa, Ruby Red, Real Rust and Brocade blue.

The patterned Paper is from My Mind’s Eye. I ran it through the cuttlebug and used the Tiny Bubble dry embossing folder. I have been waiting forever for this to come back in stock. Kim McNutt made me NEED that folder in a bad way.

The sentiment is stamped with Everyday Flexible Phrases.

Weekend Sketch Challenge #3

I had so much fun the last two weekends checking out everyone’s work with the sketches that I posted, that I decided to post one every Friday! You guys are so creative.

I liked how my Monkey card turned out yesterday.

That’s where my sketch comes from. I love this layout. It’s definitely one I use a lot.

If you decide you want to play, please upload your card on your blog or in your splitcoast gallery and add a link to it in the comment section of this thread.

I will randomly draw a winner on Monday Morning 9 a.m. Central time and send out a few monkey images with a bit of ribbon.

A Muse Missing you

Here is the last of my A Muse cards I made a little while ago with the Pristine Paper from Paper Salon.

a-muse-birds-cage-missing-y.jpg

For this one I used A Muse’s Bird cage (7-4102C) as focal point. Since I don’t have any birds yet to go with that (I know…crazy), I thought I use the sentiment….Missing you. I stamped it with Karen Forster mini casual Snap stamps on a 3/8″ wide strip. The left side is rounded with the window word punch from Stampin’ Up!

Sentiment and Image are stamped with black Palette ink on Whisper White cardstock. Image is colored in with Copic Markers. The doodle border is made with a black Micron pen.

Again, the card base is 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ folded in half. This time it’s chocolate chip.  Ribbon is from May Arts.
