Featured Stamper challenge: Stamps4funinCA, aka Tosha
Okay….so I am very late for this challenge. But I knew on Sunday already that I wanted to case the layout Tosha used on THIS card. Check out the rest of her gallery. Her work is amazing! I am so grateful for Beth to have started this challenge. I love finding new amazing stamper and their galleries. There are too many uploads every day on SCS to keep up.
UPS came very late and I didn’t get all my stamps mounted until about 9:30 p.m. last night. That didn’t stop me though. I REALLY LOVE Baroque Motifs. The swirls in the set are gorgeous and big! Oh my…it’s just a stunning set. I think I will use it a lot. So far the two in colors I like most are River Rock and Purely Pomgranate.
I started with a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ Pomgranate piece of cardstock and folded in half for my card base. The greenish layers are River Rock cardstock. The center panel is stamped with those gorgeous swirls from the set as well as the tiny flower in River Rock. The River Rock cardstock in the back is stamped with Linen in River Rock. The edges of that cardstock are sponged in Chocolate Chip. The pinkish layer is Groovy Guava cardstock stamped with Groovy Guava ink and the flowers of Baroque Motifs.
I love how Stampin’ Up! showed off the flowers in the catalog and made a layered flower like that for my focal point. I stamped the bigger flower in Pomgranade on Guava cardstock twice. The first flower I cut around the dots, the second image I cut right around the flower. I sponged both flowers with chocolate chip ink and topped them with a tiny flower stamped in chocolate chip on Guava cardstock.
All brads are from the Vintage Brads Selection. I always use the brass one up first. I wish we could buy those and the black ones seperately. Never use the copper and hardly ever the diamond shaped ones.
The Faux Stitching around the center panel is done, you guessed it, with All in a Row. The two other panels are paper pierced and on the River Rock panel in the back I used the chocolate chip marker to add Faux Stitching.
Finally I stamped the word Cherish from the set on the upper part of the main panel in chocolate chip. I had a blast making this card, even though it took a while to make it look like I wanted to.
It took at least an hour. But I had Jude Law, Jack Black, Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslow keep me company in the movie: Holiday. I love chick flicks! I didn’t like the ending of the movie. The problem of the long distance relationships wasn’t really resolved. But it was a sweet movie!
Talking about movies. The other night I watched the movie with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant…something with Lyrics. Dang, I loved that one. I loved the video in the beginning, his dancing and the music…It was so much fun to watch!

Gorgeous card, Beate — great colors together and wonderful layout!! I’m lovin’ Baroque, too.
Posted by: StamperSharon | June 6th, 2007 09:53
Wow! Fantastic card!!! I can’t wait till my Baroque Motifs comes!!! I’m Canadian so we can’t get expedited shipping, but the consolation is we get to see all these fabulous teasers while we wait.
I saw Music and Lyrics too. It was a great movie. My favourite part was the “80s” video at the beginning. It was so believable and so funny to watch. I laughed and laughed. I went to see Knocked Up last night. Good thing it was Cheap Tuesday because all the funny parts were in the trailer. I was disappointed in that one.

Beate,
Your card is stunning. I think I am going to LOVE pomegranate. I am so delighted Mr Brown showed up albeit late…but late is better than never. I must admit, I am really jealous that people are already receiving their fall preview goodies. My order is still closed *boohoo!* I didn’t get it in on the first day like most and besides it takes a minimum of 5-10 days to get to me anyways…so in the meantime I will keep watching for your beautiful SU! creations.
Thanks for all your inspiration.

Music and Lyrics is one of my favorite movies. Although I love everything with Hugh Grant in it- he is so funny and charming! I LOVE your card. I waited to place an order for the new stuff because I wanted to see which ones I liked best. That set is one on my list and was from the beginning! Good job, I just love this card!

Beautiful card, Beate! I can’t wait to get my preorder so I can play around with all of this stuff too…
You know, I own BOTH of the movies you talked about! I’m the Chick Flick Queen. My husband laughs because we have two completely separate sets of movies: my click flicks with some natural disaster movies thrown in (I know…but I love weather!!) and his Sci-Fi and ridiculously unrealistic movies like Alien, Battlestar Galactica…so we can hardly ever watch television together. Thank goodness for DVD players!

I love, love, love this card, the colors are awesome!!! Thanks for the sneak peek. This is the first year I decided not to get too many retired stamps because the next month they come out with so many wonderful new things and Ihave to wait because I spent all my money on the retired ones, YKWIM?? LOL. I must have this set!!! TFS.

gorgeous card. chick flicks are the perfect company when you’re stampin’! lately i’ve been watching the grey’s anatomy boxes sets from seasons 1&2, but i LOVE going to the movies too. if i could just figure out how to stamp and sit and eat popcorn and drink a big coke at the same time?! this summer’s chick flick fav will probably be No Reservations with Catherine Zeta Jones. looks good!
