Heartfelt Sympathy
Today we will travel back to the States. Please keep us in our thoughts on this LONG day. At least the jet lag going back won’t be so bad. We get back into Florida about 8:30 p.m. By the time we get home it’s time for bed!
Rick needed a card for one of his men that lost his Dad. Rick wanted it to be very simple.
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of chocolate chip cardstock folded halfway. The patterned paper is from the Simply Scrappin’ At Home kit. I inked up the Heartfelt Thanks flower with Cranberry crisp and Mellow moss and stamped it two times in full force, once stamped off on Shimmery White cardstock. Cindy Lyles had a great card on her blog recently adding Glassy Glaze over the stamped image to achieve a dewy look. I did that on my flowers. I stamped Heartfelt underneath and stippled first So Saffron in the center, then brocade blue on the outside of the image.
I paper pierced the top two corners and added an ivory organdy ribbon, that Rick made me take off later. (MAN cards don’t need ribbon!). The saying is from Warm Regards.
I stippled the inside in similar fashion as the outside. The greeting is from God’s Blessings.

My husband has a real thing against ribbon too. I just don’t get it. Your card is very nice. I like the stippling.

I thought about you this weekend! I was in Destin and on our way home to Nashville I saw a sign that said Niceville!

what a lovely card. I never thought of stippling like that, it is very pretty. Going to have to try that. Have a safe trip home. Too bad you can’t stamp on the plane!

Very pretty!! Yes, cards for males are so hard to do, is’nt it funny how they like them really plain??? When I was working on your gatefold week-end challenge my DH walked in and said I love that card. So I made another one and gave that one to him. TFS.

Really nice card, Beate! I like how you used a flower and still made it masculine. Your card got me thinking though…it might have been a “man” who took the organdy out of the catalog.

My hubby doesn’t like ribbon either! He always say, “Yea, nice card…but I don’t like the ribbon!” Must be a man thing : ) Have a safe trip in…..And get some rest!
