Scalloped Thanks for Color Challenge

It has been ages since I stamped for a challenge. Since I can’t find my mojo anywhere, I thought today’s color challenge was the perfect starting point.

Some of you already know I was lucky enough to be chosen as display stamper for this convention. One of the sets I received was Fast & Fun Notes. I really didn’t like it’s predecessor Nice & Easy Notes and it took me a while to warm up to this set. I decided to use it for this challenge.

This little fellow and the cute hedgehog of the set are my favorite stamps. The saying is part of this stamp. As you can see on my actual stamp, I separated my sayings from the images and mounted them on the side of the wood.

The card base is another 4 1/4″ square. This time in Pretty in Pink. I can’t stop making square cards! I don’t like rectangular cards right now. I don’t know how to stop that.

The designer paper is from a retired pack from last years catalog called Four Seasons (I think). I punched the bottom corner with the ticket corner punch.

The saying and the bird were stamped with Brown Palette ink on Whisper White . I punched out the bird with the blue Marvy Uchida circle punch and layered it on a Chocolate Chip Mega scallop circle punchout. The saying was punched out with the large oval punch from Stampin’ Up! I taped it on chocolate chip cardstock and cut around it with my decorative Scissors.

I colored the bird with Aqua painter and following classic inks: Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Barely Banana and Apricot Appeal.

The ricrac ribbon is May Arts Ribbon from Starlitstudio.

I think my next version will have a brad in the center of the flower.

Mail from Carol

Good morning,

Sorry I didn’t post anything stamped by me yesterday. After catching up with emails  and getting out all the retired sets that were paid for last week, I had to tackle cleaning my house yesterday. It was a dirty, dirty job, but someone had to do it. The kids helped me dusting ( I HATE dusting) and vaccuming their own rooms and I cleaned the rest. Hopefully today I will sit down and get creative. As soon as I find my mojo somewhere.

Carol Gottardo sent me this great Thank you card. She won one of my blog candies. I love how it showcases our punches. I will miss this daisy punch. I loved pairing it with a smaller punchout flower from the Spring Flower punch.
