Today’s sketch challenge is a

  Joy Fold Card

If you need help with this card fold, check out my tutorial here.

This challenge will run until Wednesday, July 11th at 10 a.m. central time. If you want to enter the drawing, upload your card online and post a link to your image as a comment to this post.

The winner will be chosen by random.org and will receive a spool of the new retired 1/4″ grosgrain bluebird. It matches wonderful to Stampin’ Up!s Brocade Blue.

Here is my sample:

baroque-motifs-joyfold-clos.jpg

I made this card before I left for Germany. It was another make and take sample for Julia’s downline meeting.  I simply love Baroque Motifs and the new in colors (well…I still need convincing for Wild Wasabi!)

The Card base is a 4 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Purely Pomegranate, scored at 5 1/2″.  I sponged all the edges with chocolate chip ink.

The flap on the left has a 2 3/4″ x 4″ piece of Groovy Guava over it. I stamped the flowers of  Baroque Motifs all over in Groovy Guava ink and then sponged the edges with the same ink.

The center flap base is a 3″ x 7″ piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock. I sponged all the edges with chocolate chip and scored the Cardstock at 3 1/2″.

The front panel is a  2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of River Rock cardstock. I stamped the Swirls and small flower on it in River Rock and added a Faux Stitching border with my trusted All in a Row Argyle stamp.  Two Chocolate Chip window Word punchouts  were added as tabs and secured with vintage brads and Cherish was stamped  in chocolate chip to finish the card front off .

baroque-motifs-trifold-tenn-copy.jpg

On the inside I stamped the inside right with the swirl stamp from Baroque Motifs in Chocolate chip. On the right side is another piece 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ River Rock Cardstock stamped with swirl and little flower. The bottom has the outline Argyle stamp from All in a Row stamped on it.

For the card closure I stamped the bigger Flower of the set twice in Purely Pomegranate on Groovy Guava cardstock and the smaller flower once with Chocolate chip. I cut out the bigger flower ones around the dots, ones directly around the flower image and sponged both with chocolate chip ink. I cut out and sponged the smaller flower as well, layered all three flowers on top and added a vintage brad in the middle. I adhered it with dimensionals so that the bottom left corner of the chocolate chip flap would stay underneath.

For my hostess club next week, I told the ladies we’d be doing some unusual folds, and I had planned to search around for a joy fold for one of them – you just saved me a bunch of work!!! 🙂 I haven’t been able to do your challenges for a few weeks, hopefully I’ll get something posted for this one!! Your card is GORGEOUS!

  8. This is a really wonderful group of colors. I really like the swirls as one bg and the flowers as another. VERY pretty.

  13. This is such an absolutely stunning card. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the color combo. I’m glad you showed the inside of the card. I’m blonde with cards so I have to see the whole thing or it never makes sense.

AND….I’m goofy — I just love that Wild Wasabi color. It was the first of the in colors I just had to try out with More Mustard and Chocolate Chip with my Serene Sunflower set.

Thanks for always sharing your inspiration!!!
