400,000 post celebration!!!!!!!!

blog-candy-400000.jpg

Well…I am close to 400,000 hits! It’s time again for some Fresh and Fun Freebies. This time I will raffle away an unmounted Simple Type Alpha. I really liked this Alphabet and was sad when it retired last year. The winner will also receive three packs of big gold rimmed square tags.

To enter, guess how many soda tabs are in the glass container ( I told you I LOVE diet coke). The person that guesses or comes closest to the number is will win the set! If I have more then one person guessing the right number, I will use random.org to determine the winner.

Please only one entry per person! Never mind about the entry# on this one. I am a goofy goober. Since it’s a guessing game, I won’t need it. (Sorry, that I made all the early poster do it. Hugs)

The raffle will end by Sunday night at 10:00 p.m. CST. I will announce the winner Monday morning. I can’t give you a definite time, since we will have guest from Friday until Monday! I can’t wait. Our old neighbors from Illinois are coming to visit. I am very excited.

So forgive me if my blog will be kind of quiet this weekend, starting today. I have been cleaning this morning. Hopefully I will get some stuff stamped for this weekend. I already stamped a sample for tomorrow’s sketch challenge yesterday. I really like it. Can’t wait what you think. Hugs and smiles

Sweet Deer

Here is a quick card I made with the Moose You set. I wish the sayings on it where a bit bolder. It’s still a super cute set.

I started stamping the Deer in Close to Cocoa on Shimmery White cardstock. Then I added Old Olive for grass, and Soft Sky as sky with my aqua painter. I punched out four Mega Scallop squares with my Marvy Uchida punch and layered them to make one scalloped rectangle. I used Close to cocoa cardstock, but it was quite a bit lighter then my stamped image, so I sponged the cardstock to make it darker.

Since the sponged cardstock was quite dark and I didn’t want to sponged the edges of my card base, I gave up and used my trusted Chocolate chip cardstock for that. It’s an odd sized card. I had pulled out a 4 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Soft Sky cardstock and liked the way the deer looked on it. So I cut my Chocolate chip cardstock 4 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ and folded it in half for the base.

The bottom part is a 2 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Old Olive Prints Designer paper with ticket corner punch used on the bottom to corners. It’s a standard layout, I know. But I do like the look.

Last I added May Arts ribbon and paper pierced the top right corner.
