Happiness: Good Friends, family, summer at the beach, creating with rubber stamps

When I’m in a slump…

….I like to work with old faithful layouts to get me back out of it.

Vacations are hard on my stamping mojo. My rhytm is off and I have a hard time getting back into it. I haven’t stamped much since we got back from San Antonio. There is always lots to do and so many kids in the house. I can’t wait until school starts (August 20th…I am counting the day, 13 if you count today) and I have my quiet mornings back.

Anyway…today I NEEDED to stamp. I do! I have all these glorious new sets and supplies staring at me. Here is a relative quick card that hopefully get me back in the groove.

I used the True Friend set and the Apple Cider designer paper from the upcoming Holiday Mini catalog.

The card base is a regular size piece of River Rock cardstock. The medallion is made out of three parts. I stamped it once in Really Rust on Whisper White, I embossed it once in Really Rust on Chocolate chip and stamped it in Really Rust on River Rock.

I cut the first two medallions out completely and layered them on top of each other. I used the 1″ circle punch to punch out the center of the Really Rust/River Rock medallion, colored the flower center in with chocolate chip marker and added a vintage brad in the center.

Can you believe I added two All in a Row stamps to this card. I used the Argyle as well as the solid dot line for this card. the River Rock double stitched ribbon finishes the card off.

I am crossing my fingers that I can think of my next card a little bit easier. I called my downline here and asked her over. I always work better when someone else stamps with me!

Hugs!

honey, if that’s what you produce when you’re LOW on mojo, that explains why your work is amazing when the mojo’s flowing fully! love that medallion, but don’t have that set, so i’m gonna have to improvise.

btw, mine starts this coming monday the 7th–5 more days, since i don’t count the day we’re in! i have mixed emotions, but mostly i’m glad. finding constructive things for an almost 13-yr old to do at the end of summer is challenging.

I know what you are saying Beate, I’m going on holidays in a couple weeks and a little nervous about staying out of my stamping for that time….I find the more I do a little every day, the better my results. On to your beautiful card. I love how your dots lead into your sentiment! Very pretty!

I love this card! I have felt in a bit of a slump myself lately. I’ll have to try some of the old faithful layouts and see if it helps me out…

I love this card! What a great way to create dimension with the medallion and movement with the dotted line leading into your sentiment. I think you must be out of any kind of “slump”.
I don’t have the all in a row…but I have seen how you use it so brilliantly and often (especially w/ ypor choc. chip) that it is now on my list. Mr. B. brought me a very nice sized order to day so I may have to wait a bit ;0) TFS your creations with us!

Awwwww Beate, you have to get that mojo back up, you cant let down your millions of adoring fans lol. Your card is absolutely beautiful!!!! I love that set!!! But I know how it is coming back from vacation. We did that in June. You work your butt off to pack it all up and you get home and have to work just as hard to wash all the clothes and get everything put back away. Have a great day and get that mojo RISING!!!! LOL Hugs

Awwwwww, Beate! You need to visit Texas more often …. apparently we have “secret” & “unidentified” springs of mojo that elude your consciousness!!!!

(Now where in the world is that map of springs????)
