Season of Joy String Greetings
Today’s tutorial on SCS is Suspension/String Spinner cards.
I made this card with the Season of Joy set from the upcoming Holiday mini catalog. I love the set because it looks so much like one of my favorite sets in the new catalog: Priceless.
I started out with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Old Olive cardstock folded in half. I slit my 1 3/8″ circle punch all the way in from the bottom of the card and punched a hole a bit to the right from the middle of cardstock. Then I set the card base aside.
Next I stamped the Christmas tree in Old Olive on Shimmery White cardstock, layered it on Blue Bayou cardstock, added a Purely Pomegranate star and glitter and set aside to dry.
I taped a piece of Soft Sky Prints Designer paper on a layer of Blue Bayou cardstock and layed it where I wanted it to be on my old olive card base and punched a circle through the card base with the 1 3/8″ circle punch.
On the backside of the circlular hole (on the Blue Bayou side). I added a thin string (since I looked for 20 minutes and couldn’t find the dental floss I had bought for this card) in the center of the hole taping it over and under the hole with Sticky Strip.
Next I stamped the snowflake with in the circular frame as well as Deck the halls from the big background in Blue Bayou on shimmery white. I punched out the saying with the 1″ circle punch and layered it on a 1 1/4″ circle in Soft Sky. The dots were made with the Not quite Navy marker, since we don’t have any In Color Markers. It worked well I think. I punched the Snowflake out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch.
I taped the 1 1/4″ circles one on each side of the string taped over the hole. Then I taped that big layer over the hole made in the Old Olive Card base. Voila….suspension spinner is done.
P.S.: The Purely Pomegranate paper is from the Holiday Harmony Designer Paper pack in the Holiday Mini catalog. I just added a few swirls with the swirl stamp from Season of Joy and Purely Pomegranate ink.
