Yesterday’s sketch challenge on SCS was a wonderful easy and versatile sketch.

I couldn’t wait to try it out. So this morning first thing I started my version. It changed and changed (one of the first changes is to make it into a square…of course. LOL) until I came up with this? Do you think it still works for the sketch, or did I drift off too much?

Rick’s 43rd birthday is tomorrow. I can’t believe my wonderful, funny husband is turning 43. I met him when he was 24….such a long time ago. He still looks the same to me. He is such a handsome man. I am so blessed that he is a manly man, my best friend and a wonderful father and husband. Here is us last month at our favorite place here…the beach.

Okay…sorry, I am gushing over here. But I started it with a reason….I still needed a birthday card for my man. So now back to the card.
The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Really Rust cardstock folded in half. I stamped first the background Sanded over it in Chocolate chip, then added several of the smaller stamps of the stamp set Wanted over it in Really Rust.
The main image is the Bear from Wildlife Reserve. It’s stamped in chocolate chip on Natural Ivory cardstock ( 2 1/4″ square) and layered on a 2 1/2″ square of chocolate chip. I punched out a photo corner out of Really Rust paper and stamped Sanded with chocolate chip over it. I added three Antique Copper Brads.
The layer underneath is a 3 1/2″ square piece of the Outlaw Designer paper, layered on a 3 3/4″ square of chocolate chip. I add twill and more Antique Copper Hodgepodge hardware around the right hand side and Happy Birthday from the set It’s Your Birthday on the bottom left.
Both layers were adhered with dimensionals because of the hardware.
We already went to the Middle school orientation. Lucas got some strict teachers. Austin didn’t get his schedule there. We have to wait until they send it in the mail. Hel-loooo…..school starts Monday, it’s Thursday and we still got squat!
Rebecca’s meet the teacher/bring in school supplies is in half an hour!
