I recently made a book quite like this one to send in to Stampin’ Up! They have a call right now for Event Stamping Helper. You have to be a Sr. Supervisor or higher and send in 3 card fronts, one scrapbook page ( 8 1/2″ x 11″ or 12″ x 12″) and one 3D item. Then Stampin’ Up! will pick people that will stamp samples for their events: Regional, Leadership, Manager Reception and Convention.
I enjoyed being a Display stamper in the past. It stretches me and helps me to stamp outside my comfort zone. I hope I have the opportunity to do it again.
3D items are always the hardest part of those calls. It took me two days of walking around like a caged lion to come up with the book. I really like how it turned out and will share it with you in a few weeks.
I liked it so much in fact, that I made another with the Cutie Pie Designer paper. It looks completely different then the first book.
I started out by cutting cardboard pieces (that came with my Postage stamps order) in 3 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ pieces. I adhered two on top of each other and covered it in paper for my front and back cover.
The inside pages are 3″ x 5″ index cards. I made tabs with the round tab punch and added flowers punched out with the Spring Flower punch.
The book is bound with Bind-It-All. I used 7/8″ black wire with it. The book contains 50 index cards.

Stamps: It’s all Good, Amazing to Zany (to), Simple Serif Alpha
Ink: Purely Pomegranate Classic ink, Black Stazon
Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Basic Black, Shimmery White, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and So Saffron Cardstock, Cutie Pie and Certainly Celery Prints Designer paper
Accessories: 1 1/4″, 1 3/8″ and scallop circle punches, Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware, Photo corner punch, Round Tab Punch, Spring Flower punch, Soft Subtles Brads, Ribbon Originals: Jersey, Dazzling Diamond Glitter, Glue pen, Index cards, cardboard, Bind it all

Ok Beate, I was thisclose to emailing you and asking you how often you used your bind it all! LOL
I am also thisclose to ordering one because I LOVE the idea of making little booklets and journals.
Is it easy to use? Because it sure looks like a lot of fun! Also, what wires do you use the most, sizes and colors?

Beate, Love your little book! I have a bind-it-all and have never actually bound anything yet 🙂 I have played a little bit though. I have a question, how did you adhere the paper to the cardboard? I tried Mod Podge once and it kind of warped the cardboard then I tried just “wrapping the cardboard in the patterned paper and didn’t like that it wasn’t “tight” against the cardboard. Just wanted your advice. Thanks!!!
