SCS sketch challenge 141
Yesterday’s sketch challenge wasn’t the easiest sketch to work with.
I knew before I even looked at the sketch, that I wanted to use my Holy Triptych set that had arrived Monday afternoon. I was itching to play with it.
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Always Artichoke cardstock, folded it in half and sponged it’s edges.
You heard me right. I made a rectangle card!!!
Next was a 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of black cardstock that I scalloped with my corner rounder on the left edge. On top of that are two pieces of Wintergreen Designer paper, the right strip measuring 1″ x 5 1/4″, the left one 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.
I used the ticket corner punch on the outer four corners, stamped the swirl from the tag in that set in Artichoke in three corners and taped it down to the black cardstock. I added two tabs I made with the window word punch on the top left corner, the one that didn’t get a swirl, and finished them off with Pewter Brads.
For the main image I stamped the Angel from Holy Triptych in Black Stazon on a 1 3/4″ square of Shimmery White cardstock.
I colored the angel with Always Artichoke, Soft Sky, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa and Blush Blossom ink pads and aqua painter and sponged the edges with Soft Sky ink.
The square was layered first on a 2″ black square, then on a sponge Always Artichoke Giga Scallop Square (Marvy Uchida) punchout.
I stamped the saying from Star-Studded Season in Black ink on Shimmery White cardstock and punched it out with my small oval punch. It was layered on a 1″ sponged Always Artichoke circle and on a black designer label punchout.
I added some Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware and Theater Ribbon Original and was done.
