Happy Tulip
Here is one of my cards made with today’s sketch challenge. I made it yesterday for the Way to use it Challenge: Spiraling out of control. We had to use some kind of spiral in our project.
That made me think of the word stamp in Garden Whimsy and I went with that.
I started with a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Bashful blue, folded it in half, corner rounded three of the four corners (don’t ask why…just to be different), sponged the edges lightly and stamped the swirl word stamp all over the cardstock.
I stamped a 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Purely Pomegranate cardstock with the Polka dot piece from Happiness in Black stazon and sponged the edges with black.
The Tulip was inked with Purely Pomegranate and Certainly Celery ink and stamped on a 1 5/8″ x 2 7/8″ piece of shimmery white cardstock. I corner rounded only the top right of that rectangle and layered it on a 1/4″ bigger piece of black cardstock. I used a 0.3 black Micron pen to outline the flower.
I added Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware and Fairy Tale Ribbon Originals over it. The ribbon ends were heated to hopefully stop the ribbon from unraveling and the brads hold it in place.
Behind my ribbon buckle is a black scallop circle layered with a 1 3/8″ Certainly Celery and a 1 1/4″ Shimmery White circle. On the white circle I added be happy from the Spiral greeting in black. I stamped the butterfly from Garden Whimsy in Bashful Blue on shimmery white, outlined it with my Micron pen and cut it out. I adhered it to my circular accent with one dimensional under it’s body and two each under the wings to make them stand up more. I also added dazzling diamond glitter with my glue pen.
P.S.: Can you tell that I am loving my cut up Happiness stamp? It makes great backgrounds. I can even leave off designer paper on a few cards because of it. Who would have thought?
