I was very excited when Beth asked me last week to jump in for her and be the challenge host for the Featured Stamper challenge last Sunday.

You all know Jenn Balcer is my best friend. Since I LOVE the way she stamps, scraps and her amazing feel for color,  I thought of her right away, but then I thought that would be too obvious, since she IS my bestest friend. I told Beth to pick someone and guess who she told me she picked? JENN! How cool is that?

I love Jenn’s sense of color and style. I haven’t seen her make a bad card or scrapbook page yet! I looked through her gallery and picked THIS CARD to case. I LOVED the colors, the paper she picked, the layout and the gorgeous stamps.

Jenn’s card is monochromatic, meaning she stayed with one color tone.

I tried to do the same by using Groovy Guava and White, but then through in Purely Pomegranate in the mix.

My card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Groovy Guava cardstock folded in half. I corner rounded the outer edges.

Like Jenn, I cut part of a circle out of designer paper with my coluzzle. I used my newest designer paper, Darling DoodlesI layered the circle on a 1/4″ bigger white half circle and made the scalloped edge with my corner rounder.

The main image is from the stamp set Simply Said. I stamped the flowers in Purely Pomegranate on a 2 1/4″ x 3″ piece of Whisper White cardstock and colored the flower petals in with Groovy Guava ink and Aqua Painter. A little glitter was added in the center of each flower.

I added a paper pierced border around the main image and layered it on a 1/4″ bigger piece of Purely Pomegranate cardstock.

I stamped the flower heart all over a small Groovy Guava Photo corner and sponged the edges. I did the same with a 1″ Groovy Guava circle. The photo corner was adhered to the top left of the image. I added two silver brads as well as one Purely Pomegranate flower with jewel brad center.

For the sentiment I inked up the thank you of one of the Simply Said Sayings with Purely Pomegranate ink and stamped it on white cardstock. I punched it out with the small oval punch and layered it first on that stamped 1″ Groovy Guava circle, then on a Purely Pomegranate designer label punchout. Two more silver brads and another flower with jewel brad center and the card was done.
