Color Challenge: Chocolate Bayou
I am still spending most of my time with Austin. Poor guy still doesn’t eat any solid foods.
He likes to play video games with me when he is sick. Let’s just say I love him a lot to take hours of being beaten in games…Gaming is definitely not a talent of mine.
I had to sneak in this color challenge though. Emily picked Chocolate Chip, Blue Bayou and River Rock. She had me at Chocolate Chip! LOL
I looked through the sketches I had saved on my computer and decided to try Di Hickman’s first sketch.
I love the look of this one.
My card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of sponged Chocolate Chip cardstock.
The sponged River Rock cardstock measures 3 3/8″ x 3 1/2″, the Blue Bayou Prints Designer paper 3 1/8″ x 3 1/4″.
The side that is lined up with the edge of the card doesn’t show the River Rock cardstock. I stamped my All in a Row Argyle stamp on the three layered sides and distressed those three sides with the Cutter Kit.
The polka dotted paper is from the Dashing Designer paper and measures 1″ x 3 7/8″. It was layered on a sponged 1 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Blue Bayou cardstock. Again the edges were stamped with All in a Row.
For my center image, I stamped the flower stamp from In the Spotlight with Chocolate Chip on River Rock cardstock and punched it out with the Five Petal Flower punch. On top of that I added a sponged Blue Bayou punchout from the Three for you punch.
Underneath the flower is a sponged 1 1/4″ Blue Bayou circle, followed by a 1 3/8″ Chocolate Chip circle and a sponged scalloped River Rock circle. I paper pierced the Blue Bayou circle, taped all layers together and added a Ice Circle Rhinestone brad in the center of the flower.
A piece of Pewter Hodgepodge hardware was attached to the scallop circle with a piece of Chocolate Taffeta ribbon running through it’s lop. I taped that ribbon under the cardstock and tied it together on the side next to the hardware with a piece of Blue Bayou double stitched ribbon. I had sponged that ribbon before with River Rock to tone the white stitching down.
Last I added the saying from Absolutely Fabulous under the paper strip.
