Hardware Galore
Here is my sample for this weekend sketch. Do you ever wonder if you have TOO MUCH hardware on your card? I was wondering about that after I finished this card. It’s a Christmas card after all…
I started out by stamping the Christmas tree from Sidekick Sayings in Black Stazon on a 2 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock.
I stamped just the Christmas tree again on a separate piece of Shimmery White, colored it in with Purely Pomegranate, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke and Summer Sun classic ink and Aqua Painter and cut it out.
I used Soft Sky ink and Aqua painter to add color to the main image, layered it on a 2 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Always Artichoke cardstock, paper pierced a border and adhered the colored tree on top of the one in the image.
Next I added Purely Pomegranate ink over part of the saying to highlight it. Dazzling Diamond glitter was added on the ornaments and star of the tree with help of my glue pen. Last I added a ribbon holder from the Antique Brass Hodgepodge Hardware to the bottom right of the image with some Theater Ribbon Original tied to it.
The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 5″ piece of Always Artichoke cardstock folded in half. The right corners were corner rounded. The next layer is a 4″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Purely Pomegranate cardstock, with a large Soft Sky photo corner on it’s top right corner. Again the right corners were corner rounded. Five Antique Brass brads were added to the corner.
I cut a half circle out of Wintergreen Designer paper with my Coluzzle and layered it on a slightly bigger half circle of Soft Sky cardstock. It was taped to the left edge of the Purely Pomegranate layer and three Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets were added.
The center image was adhered to the card with dimensionals.

What a great masculine Christmas card- it would be perfect for my Dad, who is *not* into sparkles and snowflakes!
I hope I get to play too this weekend- it’s Thanksgiving here in Canada, so I have family over, and I have to make lemon merangue pie too, as well as do housework!
But the card sketch and my stamps are singing to me…ain’t it always the way! :-))

Fabulous card! Love all the hardware! After reading your title and wondering if you used too much hardware, I immediately thought of “hardware ______ (starts with wh and rhymes with more and galore)”, but maybe we’re not close enough for me to call you that yet! *wink*
