Sketch Challenge SC145
Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. I really appreciate it!
Today is my travel day. My flight is leaving around noon. I can’t wait to meet everyone in Portland. I will try to take lots of pictures and share them with you!
I really liked the sketch for yesterday’s challenge and had to try it out.
I started with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock folded in half.
Next I cut 1″ off the right side of the card front.
I lined the right side of the inside with a 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strip of the Argyled Old Olive Prints Designer Paper.
I punched a scalloped border in a 1″ x 5 1/2″ strip of Shimmery White cardstock and taped it to the inside edge of the card front.
Next I cut a 3″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic Black cardstock and used the ticket corner punch on all four edges. It was layered on a 2 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Paisley Old Olive Prints Designer paper that had the corners punched as well. Faux Stitching was added to both layers with All in a Row.
For the main image I stamped the flower from Touch of Nature in Black Stazon on Shimmery white and cut it into an oval with my Coluzzle. The image was colored with Aqua painter and classic inks (Soft Sky, Ruby Red, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive. I layered it on the next size up oval in Chocolate chip, added scallops with the corner rounder and sponged the edges.
I stamped the butterfly from Touch of Nature in Black Stazon on Shimmery White, colored it with Aqua Painter and classic inks, cut it out and adhered it on top of my main image.
For the sentiment I picked from the heart. It’s from the set Holidays and Wishes. I stamped it in black stazon, and washed over it with Soft sky ink and aqua painter. I added a paper pierced row underneath, punched it out with my large oval punch and fastened a large oval frame over it from the Aged Copper Hodgepodge hardware.
