My Sketch challenge sample for WSC23
You know I can’t stick to sketches, not even my own. LOL
I made this card for the weekend sketch challenge. I exchanged the square in the center for an oval. I had the stamp set Sweet Sampler for a while, but haven’t used it until now.
I used the color combo from this week’s Color Challenge Basic Rocks: Basic Black, Basic Gray and River Rock
The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Basic Black cardstock folded in half.
Next is a 4″ square of Basic Gray cardstock, followed by a 3 3/4″ piece of Brocade Background Designer paper.
For both layers each corners were punched with the ticket corner punch.
Faux stitching was added in basic Black with the Argyle stamp from All in a Row. The edge of the Designer paper was also paper pierced.
For the main image I stamped enjoy in Black Stazon on Very Vanilla Cardstock. I sponged the edges with River Rock ink and added a paper pierced border.
I cut the sentiment out with the Coluzzle and layered it first on a Basic Gray cardstock oval followed by a Basic Black oval. I used my corner rounder to add scallops to the black layer.
To add more interest, I added piece of Pewter Hodgepodge hardware with Gray Taffeta Ribbon to the left side of the oval. The ribbon was tied with black hemp.
On the right side of the oval I added a 1/4″ black circle with a Pewter brad in the center. I can’t just use brads anymore…they look even better with a coordinating 1/4″ circle of cardstock underneath.
