Scallops and Stitches
It feels good to be participating in the challenges again. Although with being so out of practise and having the kids at home, it took me until last night to finish this card.
I made it for yesterday’s sketch challenge on SCS:
I started out with the main image. I stamped the long stemmed flower from Embrace Life three times in Black Palette ink on a 1 7/8″ x 2 3/8″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock.
I colored the flowers with Pumpkin Pie and Certainly Celery Classic Ink and Aqua Painter. The background was colored with Soft Sky.
Next I stamped the leaves in Certainly celery around the edges and bottom of the panel. I colored the leaves in with Certainly Celery and Aqua Painter.
I layered it on a 2″ x 2 1/2″ piece of Certainly Celery cardstock that was placed on a black scalloped rectangle. I paper pierced a border around the edges of the white layer.
The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Basic Black cardstock folded in half.
The next layer is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Certainly Celery. I sponged the edges and stamped the leaves in Certainly Celery on it.
The Pumpkin layer measures 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ and is from the Bali Breeze Designer paper. I stamped my All in a Row Argyle stamp around it.
The Soft Sky Designer Paper layer measures 2″ x 3 1/2″. I added the scallops with the rectangle Nestabilities stamps.
The sentiment was stamped with Black Palette Ink on Shimmery White cardstock. I punched it out with the large oval punch. that was layered first on a 1″ Celery circle and a black Designer label.
I attached May Arts ribbon to the sentiment piece with an Antique Copper Hodgepodge Hardware piece (I never know what to call that thingie). To tie in the hardware, I added an Antique Copper brad in each of the scallops in the Soft Sky Designer paper.
