Here is my first sample with this weekend’s sketch. I really liked playing with this layout.

I used this card for next week’s tutorial on Splitcoast. It will be for about the Faux Silk Technique.

I started out stamping a piece of tissue paper with the stem stamp from Embrace Life in Black Palette Ink.

I then carefully colored the leaves in with Aqua Painter and Old Olive Classic ink. The ink will bleed a bit through the tissue paper and run easily. Once it dried, I crunched up the tissue paper.

Next it applied glue with my glue stick all over a 3 1/4″ square of Whisper White cardstock. I flattened out the tissue paper over the cardstock and cut the excess tissue paper off at the edges of the cardstock.

I layered this on a 3 1/2″ piece of Basic Black cardstock and paper pierced the edges of the White piece.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 10″ piece of Old Olive cardstock folded in half.  The next layer is a 1 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Soft Sky Prints Designer Paper. I added a small Photo corner tot he bottom right of that strip and topped it with three Antique Brass Brads.

The sentiment was stamped in Black Palette Ink on a 1 3/8″ Whisper White circle, that was layered on a Black Scallop circle. I attached a piece of Antique Brass Hardware to the left of that scallop circle, taped the sentiment layer down on the Faux Silk layer, punched a hole through with my paper piercing tool and tied May Arts Ribbon through it.

Last I attached the Faux Silk layer along with the sentiment on the card base with dimensionals.

Wohoo!!! I am back with a new Weekend Sketch challenge. Thank you all for being so patient with me. Not only am I back with a new sketch, I am also happy to announce that my good friend Cambria Turnbow has joined my little sketch team.

Here is the sketch for this weekend:

To participate in the challenge and be entered in the  raffle, make a card with this layout and upload it either to your blog, or to an online gallery.

If you upload your card on SCS, put WSC29  (NO SPACE INBETWEEN WSC AND 29) in the keyword section. That way we can look at all of them at once!

Post a link to your card to this blog entry as a comment. Please add your entry# to it.

I will determine the winner  with Random.org on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.
