Thank you all for playing with the sketch! I was overwhelmed and excited about the amount of you that took up my challenge. 117 to be exact! It feels good to be back!

Random.org picked #71 for this weeks winner. That’s Misty Buck with this amazing card.

You can find more of Misty’s great work at her blog Li’l Buck’s Creations.

On a personal note:

Rebecca will be getting a skin graft done on the bottom front teeth on the 24th of January. I am nauseous just thinking about it. My poor baby! I wish she wouldn’t have to go through this. The Periodonist says she does those all the time to young children. Doesn’t make me feel any better though.

  1. Thanks,Beate! I’m so sorry for your little girl. My six year old has a tooth that looks like there’s no gum covering it when it came in but the dentist said that it was okay when I took him in. Now, I wonder if I need a second opinion, because I don’t think it looks all right at all.
Take care. Hope everything turns out okay.

  2. Congrats to Misty!

Beate, I’m sorry your daughter has to go through that. I’m sure all will be okay and I hope that she has a speedy recovery! She will be knocked out for the procedure, I hope. We always have Chloe put under to do any major work. When she wakes she’s a little loopy but it’s less traumatic for her. I’ll be thinking of you all!

  3. I don’t care how many kids a doctor does a procedure for – when it’s my dd, it’s different!!

  4. Oh Beate…I’m sorry for poor Rebecca! My husband had several gum grafts done on his teeth a few years ago, and it wasn’t fun. All my sympathy to both of you!! Just have lots of ice cream, pudding, and jello on hand! 🙂

    Many huggs!

  5. Rebecca will be in my thoughts and prayers. It’s terrible she has to go through this but hopfully it will be the last of it’s kind. Sending Happy Thoughts your way. Melanie

  6. I”ll be thinking about you and keeping Rebecca in my prayers!

  7. I had that procedure done when I was in fourth grade. Although it was a bit uncomfortable, it really wasn’t that big of a deal. I think my parents thought it was worse than I did! Good luck to you and Rebecca!

  8. Poor Rebecca – I hate the dentist following wisdom teeth extractions many years ago so I feel for you all. Didn’t get my card posted in time for your challenge but it is in my gallery now (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/768203?cat=500&ppuser=132530) and I have used my stampin up stamps – thanks again for all your help with that. Janine

  11. Just wanted to let you know I had the procedure done when I was around 48. While not my most fond memory, it is one of those things that was much less scary than expected. Of course I was an adult, but a very chicken, afraid of dentists and needles chicken. The recovery was not bad at all. We went on vacation to New Orleans a couple of weeks after my skin graft, and I did not effect my fun or impact enjoying the Louisiana cuisine. I hope your daughter’s surgery and recovery are uneventful and that you will come through it too. Lucy G

  12. Beate,
I have been a hygienist for 15yrs and have seen many people that have needed or have had the procedure that your daughter is having. It is a very routine procedure, and the fact that she is so young will help her heal faster. The mouth heals rather quickly, and she will do better than you think. No procedure is fun when it’s for your OWN child, no matter what anyone tells you. Just keep some nice soft yummy food for her first day or two, and give her lots of hugs! Hope this helps.

  13. Congratulations to Misty! Beautiful card!

I’m sorry about Rebecca needing surgery. Everything will be fine, and I will be praying for a successful surgery. Hugs!!!

  14. I can understand the dread for Rebecca’s surgery. You all will be in my prayers too.

    Sincerely,
    Nancy Grant

  15. Hugs to Rebecca. I had that done back in ’99! Have a lot of soft food for her to eat for about 2 weeks. Milkshakes were the best 🙂
