Embossing images more then once

In my previous post I said I like to emboss my images more then once to achieve a smooth, not so bumpy glaze over the image.

Embossing images several times is easy.

After you melt the embossing powder for the first time, cover it  again with embossing powder.

You will have to work quickly, while the first layer is still warm.

Then heat the image again.  As long as the first layer of embossing powder is still warm it will be sticky, holding the second layer of embossing powder in place.

Continue to repeat to add embossing powder and heat it until you like the way your embossed image looks.

Bird on a Bush

Yesterday’s Limited Supply challenge was to use everything of one color group…or so I thought. Until I was done with this card and read the whole post. LOL Wouldn’t hurt to do that before making a card. The challenge was to use only 2 colors and 2 tools. Oh well…the card might not fit the challenge, but I loved playing with the new Always set and I like how it turned out.

I started out with a 3″ square of Shimmery White cardstock and stamped the little branch in Old Olive on the bottom.

Then I sponged the lower part with Old Olive and the top of the square lightly with Not Quite Navy.

I layered the square on a Chocolate Chip scallop square I had made with my Nestabilities, paper pierced the edges and stamped the saying in Chocolate Chip on the top left.

The bird was stamped with Cameo Coral craft ink and embossed twice with Clear embossing powder. I like to emboss my images at least twice to create a smooth, not bumpy layer.

The Cameo Coral scallop circle was inked up with VersaMark ink and embossed as well. It looked a lot like leather until I layered the 1 3/8″ Chocolate Chip circle and the 1 1/4″ Shimmery White circle with it’s embossed always greeting on there.

The Old Olive layer is a 4 3/4″ square that was stamped with the background Tres Chic, sponged and layered on a 5″ Chocolate Chip square. I then paper pierced the edges and added a small photo corner on the top right. Last I adhered all layers to my 5 1/2″ square Cameo Coral card with dimensionals.

I sure hope my post makes sense. The boys have friends over. They are playing Guitar Hero in the living room and are rather loud! I am off to hide in my bedroom and finish a book I started to read!

Have a wonderful Saturday! Hugs and smiles
