Lovely Labels - Simple Thanks
It’s not often that I make a 10 minute card. I am a slow stamper to begin with and I like to add a lot of detail to my cards. Making simple cards is very hard for me. I love the look of them, but usually I just can’t do it. Whenever I make one I feel the need to add and add and add….
So be gentle with me.
Here is a very simple card.
The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Purely Pomegranate cardstock folded in half and wheeled with It’s Beautiful Jumbo Wheel that was inked with Purely Pomegranate (I just inked it up by rolling it over the pad several times.)
On the bottom of the card a 1 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Pumpkin Pie Prints Designer paper was adhered.
I tied Chocolate Satin Ribbon (We were able to purchase this ribbon by the spool in the Holiday mini catalog. You can still get it in the Theater Ribbon Original pack.) around the card on the top of the Pumpkin strip.
The saying is from Lovely Labels. I love round greetings. I am excited that Stampin’ Up! has added more to their catalog. I stamped the saying in Chocolate Chip Craft ink on Confetti White cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder twice. Once it cooled down, I punched it out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch (the punch is just a hair too small, but I wanted another layer before the scallop) and then layered it first on a sponged 1 3/8″ Purely Pomegranate circle, then on a Confetti White scallop circle.
I adhered the sentiment with two dimensionals on top and regular snail adhesive on the bottom of the circle to the card.

See, I have the opposite problem–I can *only* make simple cards! I can never-ever-see what else that I could possibly add. Most of the time, I’m okay with that, it’s my style in scrapbooking too (my first love). But sometimes I really want a bit more panache.
If you weren’t “restraining” yourself, what would you add to this card? It looks perfect to me–what else could go on there and not detract from the design?

Hi Beate!
I can totally relate with what you said about simple cards. I love how they look but I can’t keep myself from adding things to my cards. Well, you did a fabulous job going simple on your card. . .it’s simple yet stunning!!! I guess the key is to add eye popping embellishment and bold colors like your card!
