I was dreading today…

…because Rebecca should have gotten her gum graft done this morning. I slept horrible because of it. You know how it is when you know your little ones will be in pain and there is nothing you can do.

So we go there at 8:00 a.m. and guess what? The receptionist who wrote the appointment down for me forgot to put it into the computer! I was upset. Not that I showed it. Mistakes happen, but it really messed with us! Rebecca hadn’t done her homework (we thought she would have all weekend), I was all nervous and for what? Man! So now her next appointment will be next Thursday at 9:00 a.m. I saw her put it in the computer, so hopefully that appointment will really be it.

Yesterday I finally got to stamp a little. I first worked on the tutorial for next week and made two samples. Next I finished a card that I had started last week Friday. It had been laying on my table ever since. I knew how I wanted to do most of the card, but I just couldn’t decide on what sentiment to use.  I was stuck. Another reason I didn’t stamp over the weekend.

I cased the idea of the flower from the gorgeous Shadow box in the catalog. I LOVED that sample.

The card was made for last week’s Limited supply challenge: Back to Backgrounds.

I started with a 4 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Bashful Blue cardstock. I stamped first the Baroque, then the Canvas background in Bashful Blue over it.

Next the two right corners were punched with the corner rounder and the edges were sponged with Chocolate chip. It was layered on a 1/4″ bigger piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock. I added a rounded photo corner on the bottom right, topped with five silver brads.

For the focal point I stamped the background stamp from Brocade Basics second generation in Always Artichoke on a 2 7/8″ x 3 1/8″ Very Vanilla Cardstock piece. That was layered first on a 1/4″ bigger piece of a Chocolate Chip, then on a 3 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Always Artichoke. I paper pierced the top right edge.

Next I inked up the word Enjoy from Lovely Labels with a Chocolate Chip marker and stamped it next to the flower stem. I stamped some flowers in Bashful Blue, cut them out and added them to the center piece. I added half pearls from the Pretties Kit in the center of the circular flowers and Dazzling Diamond glitter on the oulines of the double layered half flower. The flowers were adhered to the card with dimensionals.

5/8″ wide Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon  was tied to the left hand side and a hat pin with more pearls was added.

Have a great day! Hugs and smiles

Last minute request

I was wondering if you could help me out. I was thinking about this since last week, but I wanted to talk (email) it over with Rick first. Most of you know that he is deployed in Quatar right now for a year.

I would like to send a package out on the 31st of January with blank Valentine’s cards for  soldiers to send home to their loved ones. If you have some Valentine’s day cards laying around, could you send them to me? If you have a spare envelope for them, can you send that as well?

I would love to fill a box! I know it’s last minute. That’s the kind of girl I am. I would so appreciate your help.

Email me for my mailing address. I am out this morning, but hope to be back close to noon.

Thank you so much in advance for even considering it. You guys rock! Big cyber hugs!
