I have been itching to use the Stitched Exotics set from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog. I immediately pulled it out when I saw Roxie’s sketch for yesterday’s challenge.

Once I started playing though, I totally forgot that the #3 horizontal layer when over the entire card length. I still like my card though. It’s with my favorite color combo (as of right now) Pumpkin Pie and Purely Pomegranate. I can’t stop using those two colors together!!!

I started by cutting the a rectangle scallop with my largest rectangle Nestabilities die cut frame.

The Soft Sky Prints Designer paper measures 2 3/4″ x 3 1/2″.

I stamped the swirl from Stitched Exotics in Old Olive Craft ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder so it would really stand out from the background paper. I added paper piercing to the top right and bottom left corner and tied Pomegranate satin ribbon around it.

The large flower was first inked up in VersaMark, then with Purely Pomegranate. Before stamping it though, I rolled the edges in Bravo Burgundy classic ink. Next I stamped it on Whisper White cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder twice. The flower was cut out and layered with two of the new Felt Flowers from the Flower Fusion Accents & Elements tin. I love those flowers! They were attached to the main flower with a green Rhinestone brad. The flower was adhered to the scalloped piece with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Absolutely Fabulous. I stamped it in Purely Pomegranate on a 1 1/4″ Whisper White circle. To ink up the sentiment partially to fit on the circle, I used a bullet tip Fantastix. I layered the circle first on a 1 3/8″ Purely Pomegranate circle, then on a sponged scalloped Old Olive circle. I added two layered felt flowers to the bottom right with a yellow Rhinestone brad in their center.

The card base is a piece of  5 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ Old Olive cardstock. It was folded in half and the edges of the card front were sponged. I had to make this a bit smaller then regular size because of my scallop rectangle.

The next layer is a 4 1/4″ x 5″ piece of Purely Pomegranate, followed by a 4″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Bali Breeze Designer paper. I paper pierced around the edge. The scalloped piece was adhered in it’s center with dimensionals.

Paper piercing:
I usually don’t eyeball. I use the template from the mat pack for almost everything! Here I used the smaller holes on the edges of the soft sky prints paper, the larger holes on the border of the Bali Breeze paper.

I use the template also to space my brad holes when adding brads (to photo corners or just to add them in an even row).

Personal note:
Rebecca’s appointment for her gum graft is at 9:00 a.m. Well, let’s say that’s the appointment date I got this time. Please keep her in your thoughts.

Yesterday’s cards filled our THIRD priority flat rate box! I am sending it out today! Thank you guys soooo much!
