Cards for the troops Update - First box arrived, first reactions and Monday Mailings
Totally exciting news! Our first box of cards arrived!!!
Here is what Rick wrote:
The first box of Valentine’s Day cards arrived today. I separated them into 3 boxes and put a big sign that says “Free Valentine’s Day Cards” on the side and put the boxes around the base. I also sent an email that said:
“My wife and her friends from all over the U.S. mailed me hundreds of hand-stamped Valentine’s Day Cards with envelopes. I’ve put some in the A6 conf room, Help Desk counter and the DEL. Hurry and pick one out and mail it to your loved one today!”
I took a picture with some of my guys so you can have something to blog. I should be able to download the picture tonight and email it to you tomorrow.
A little while later Rick emailed me again forwarding some comments he received already!
I just want to let you know that how much we appreciate your wife and her friends for making those beautiful Valentine’s day cards.
And thank you for sharing the love throughout the CAOC Help Desk as well~ (They are VERY popular!!)

aww that’s sooo neat!! My husband is USAF veteran so I am familiar with how it goes, but was fortunate enough that they never had sent Jeff oversea.
Please let us know when the next round will be and I’d be happy to send cards.

Totally cool post! And what great timing!!!! It’s so nice to see something actually getting through to the real people… seems there are several ‘for the troops’ projects, and the boxes take forever to get somewhere, or are held up, or never arrive…

Tears came to my eyes, reading how much they appreciate the little things that we all do for them to try & bring a smile to their faces. Thank you so much for sharing that info with us, it touched my heart.
What a wonderful thing you and all our fellow cardmakers did. I am so upset that I missed the post asking for cards. Do you think you will do it again for Easter?

My eyes watered when I read the update. It is so wonderful to hear good things such as this.
As a Navy wife, I know how much they appreciate that. I only wish that I had started reading your blog sooner, so that I could’ve participated. But I will not miss that opportunity again! Thank you so much for your kindness.
