Funky Cold Medina!!!

Here is my sample for today’s inspiration challenge. It definitely took me out of my comfort zone. But I like my funky results.

When I looked at the Inspiration piece I pulled out these colors: Pixie Pink, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise and Basic Black.

I knew right away that I wanted to use the Friendly Flowers.

I stamped the medium size flower once in Wild Wasabi on Certainly Celery, once in Rose Red on Pixie Pink.

Both flowers were cut out. Next I stamped the medium flower again in Rose Red on Apricot cardstock, punched it out with a 3/4″ circle punch and layered it on the green flower. On top of that is a 1/2″ black circle that was paper pierced and topped off with the clear circle sticker from the Build-a-Brads.

For the pink flower I stamped the smaller flower from Friendly Flowers in Rose Red on Apricot and punche dit out with the 1″ circle punch. I topped it off with a Pewter Build-a-Brad that held a 1/2″ punchout of the medium flower and 1/4″ black circle with white gel pen accents.

The stems and leaves of the flowers were cut out of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Wild wasabi cardstock folded in half. Next is a 4″ square of Rose Red followed by a 3 3/4″ square of Basic Black. The black piece was stamped with the Stitched background and embossed with clear embossing powder for extra texture. I also added a paper pierced border here.

I added a small turquoise photo corner with three apricot brads to the top right.  The sentiment is also from Friendly Flowers. It’s stamped in Rose Red on Apricot Appeal cardstock, was punched out with the large oval punch and paper pierced. The hardware is from the Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware kit and the ribbon is Turquoise grosgrain.

The dotted border was made with a black Gelly Roll Glaze Pen. I have them for years now and it’s the first time I used one. The rest are almost empty because Rebecca LOVES them.
