Monday Technique Challenge: Vellum Debossing
I loved Monday’s technique challenge this week. We were to stamp on Vellum paper and then deboss the image. When you go over Vellum with a stylus tool, the vellum will turn white.
I didn’t get to stamp this card until late on Monday. You know my whole Monday routine. But I knew I wanted to participate in this challenge. While cleaning the house I was thinking about the set I wanted to use. I decided on Kind Thought. It is such a beautiful set!
First I stamped the big swirl in White StazOn on Vellum Paper.
I turned the paper around, placed a foam mat under it and traced every line with my stylus tool.
Next I went over everything again with my white gel pen to make the debossed image even whiter.
A 4″ square of Afternoon Tea Designer Paper was taped to a 4 1/4″ square of White cardstock. The vellum was taped over it. I placed the adhesive in each corner so my photo corners would hide it.
I punched four large photo corners out of Wild Wasabi cardstock and stamped the Butterfly from Kind thoughts over it to add the pattern.
Next I taped all layers on a 4 1/2″ square of Wild Wasabi cardstock. On the lower part of the square, I tied Striped Wild Wasabi ribbon topped with stitched Soft Sky ribbon and stuck a hat pin from the Pretties kit through the knot.
On to the top left corner I added a small flower from the Pretties kit along with a blue Rhinestone brad. The top right corner was decorated with five silver brads.
My card base is a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Soft Sky cardstock. I paper pierced each corner and adhered the other layers with dimensionals.
