Sparkly Butterfly

It’s Monday and I just finished typing up the BIC7 challenge. I looked at the image and wrote down blue and brown as colors (totally ignoring the touch of purple) and butterfly and leaves as images. I was about to get ready to stamp a sample when I looked at my pile of cards that I hadn’t posted yet. Check it out. I already had a sample. LOL

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Close to Cocoa cardstock, folded in half with the edges of the cardfront sponged.

Next is a 4″ Blush Blossom square. The edges were punched with the ticket corner punch.

On top of that is a 2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Petal Patch designer paper (retired) on the top half, a 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Close to Cocoa Prints designer paper on the bottom. The corners were ticket corner punched as well and the edges were paper pierced. I tied 5/8″ wide Celery Grosgrain ribbon around the blush blossom and DP layers. I love this ribbon. I wish we had it in even more colors. It’s such a nice width.

For the main image I stamped the butterfly in Close to Cocoa on Blush Blossom paper from the Petal Patch pack. It was cut out and adhered with dimensionals first on a 1″ Certainly Celery Prints Designer Paper circle, then on a 1 1/4″ circle of bashful blue Petal Patch paper. I paper pierced the blue circle.

Next I stamped the frame from Frames and Flourishes in Close to Cocoa on the Blush Blossom paper from Petal Patch. I colored the flowers with bashful blue ink, the leaves with Certainly celery ink and blender pen. I cut 1/8″ all around the frame and layered it on a sponged Close to Cocoa scallop square that I made with my Nestabilities. Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE my Nesties??? I am so addicted to scallops as I am sure you can tell by my uploads. I adhered the butterfly circles in the middle of my frame and attached the frame to my card with dimensionals.

For the sentiment I only inked up kind from Kind Thoughts with Chocolate Chip and stamped it on the Blush paper from Petal Patch pack. It was punched out with the small oval punch and paper pierced. The flower from Kind Thoughts was stamped in Bashful blue on the Bashful Blue paper of the Petal Patch paper, topped with the outline flower from the same set in Chocolate Chip. I added a brown brad in the flower center and adhered it with dimensionals.

For the final touch I outlined the Butterfly and the oval with Stardust Stickles. I also added some of that on the inside of the flower.
