Spacing Brads made easy

Every once in a while I get asked how I space my brads so straight and even.  My secret: The right tool!

I always use my paper piercing mat that comes in the Mat Pack Stampin’ Up! sells. For brads in one row, I use the paper piercing holes that are further apart and use pierce second hole.

Here is what I do for my photo corners. You know I like to add brads on those!

Step one:
Line up the corner guidelines for the wider spaced paper piercing holes with your photo corner.

Step two:
Pierce the hole in the corner, then the third and, if wanted, the fifth hole to the left and downwards.

Step three:
Add brads to your photo corner.

Hints:

  • I always tape my photo corners on my project before adding the brads.
  • When adding a smaller, second photo corner on top of the larger one, I often only use three brads.

Scrapbook Sunday #27

wsc43-rick-posing.jpg

I love this picture of Rick. He is such a goofy man. So much fun to hang out with.

I have pictures with him posing like that ever since we started dating.

Since living in Florida his hair color is turning into salt and pepper, which he loves by the way.

I kept the page super simple and used the sketch from this weekend as layout.

The 6″ x 6″ page base is Always Artichoke cardstock. The 2 1/4″ x 6″ paper is from the Blue Bayou Prints Designer Paper pack. I ran Soft Sky double stitched ribbon along the edge of the designer paper.

I cut the photo down to 3 1/2″ x 5″ and layered it on a 1/8″ bigger piece of Basic Black cardstock. I added a double photo corner on the top right with three black brads in it.

The photo was attached with dimensionals. I journaled around the three right sides with my 08black micron pen.
