Happiness: Good Friends, family, summer at the beach, creating with rubber stamps

An older card

Today is cleaning and chocolate chip cookie day.

I am taking a break from working to post a card.

Not sure if I get to stamp today.

I made this card quite a while ago.

The card base is a chocolate chip sponged 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece Kraft cardstock, folded in half.

The next layer is a 4″ sponged and distressed Blue Bayou square, followed by a 1/4″ smaller, distressed, sponged and paper pierced piece of Western Sky Designer Paper.

The horizontal layer is from the same paper pack and measures 2 1/4″ x 2 1/2″. The edges were distressed and I added a triple row paper piercing on top and on the bottom.

I taped the Blue Bayou and both designer paper layers together. Next a slit was punched  on the upper right edge of the darker designer paper layer and 5/8″ Chocolate grosgrain ribbon was tied through it. I also added three 1/4″ punchouts from the same designer paper to the right of it and added three Pewter brads.

The medaillon from the stamp set Wanted was stamped three times in Chocolate Chip. Once on Kraft, once on confetti White and once on a light colored scrap from the Western sky Designer Paper. I punched the Kraft one out with the scallop circle and sponged it’s edges with Chocolate Chip. The next layer is a 1 3/8″ sponged Chocolate Chip circle. The Confetti White image was punched out with my 1 1/4″ circle punch. Again the edges were sponged. From the last stamped image I punched out it’s center with the 1/2″ circle punch, adhered and place that in the center of a Pewter Build-a-Brad.

The sentiment is from the set Many Happy Returns. It comes originally with a lot of sayings on only three wooden blocks. Corinne Somerville’s husband sells wooden blocks for it though so you can have each sentiment on one block. I got me some of those! LOVE it!!!

Anyway…the sentiment was stamped in Chocolate Chip on Kraft cardstock, punched out with the Window Word Punch and sponged around the eges. It was layered on a heavily sponged 3/4″ Kraft circle and a 1″ circle punchout from the darker Western Sky designer paper, which was distressed with the sanding block. Over all layers I placed a 1″ circle out of Acetate (hint: punches don’t like to punch through acetate. I learned it the hard way! Use your coluzzle!!!). I paper pierced holes on the top and bottom of my sponged Kraft circle and added one Pewter brad to keep the Acetate in place and give it just a little bit more umpfh.

I made a matching trifold pocket card with this card. I won’t be showing that one until I have a tutorial for it!
