Scrapbook Sunday #28
I used this weekend’s sketch for my scrapbook page.
The page base is a 6″ x 6″ piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock.
The designer paper from Always Artichoke Prints and Fall Flowers Pack were cut in 2 1/2″ x 2 7/8″ and 3 1/4″ x 2 7/8″ pieces and taped to the card base. The (long neglected) Argyle stamp from All in a Row was stamped in Chocolate Chip over all designer Paper edges.
I cut the photo down to 3 1/2″ x 5″ and layered it first on a 1/4″ bigger piece of Chocolate Chip, then Bashful Blue cardstock. The title is from Many Happy Returns and is stamped in Chocolate Chip on a 1 1/4″ Whisper White circle. That circle was layered first on a 1 3/8″ Chocolate Chip circle, then on a bashful blue scallop circle.
For my journaling I rounded one edge of a 7/8″ x 2 1/4″ strip of Whisper White with my 1″ circle punch. I added journaling with my Chocolate Chip marker and added two Pewter brads on the left hand side.
I know my scrapbook pages are very simple. But with only having a 6″ square space to work with, it’s hard to add a lot of stuff. I like the focus of my pages to be the photos I am scraping, not all the cool stuff I used to make it.

I bought wooden blocks to separate each word of the Many Happy Return stamp set from Corinne Somerville.The stamps won’t fit in the plastic case the set comes in. You will need a large stamp set container to hold them all. I love how many word choices I have now!
Sorry about the quality of the picture. I was holding the case lid up with my foot while taking the picture and didn’t quite hold still. I guess I should start doing some yoga exercises or something…
Using Circle punches to round edges of cardstock strips
Cut your cardstock strip a tiny bit more narrow then the circle punch is wide.
Here I used a 7/8″ strip in a 1″ circle punch.
Slide one end of the strip into the punch from the top down.
Punch and the one end of the strip will be rounded.

Your page is wonderful! I love how your DD’s shirt is almost an exact match to the paper you used - “simple” or not, it’s fabulous!

Love your page, I find it difficult to work on 6×6 so it always floors me when your pages are stunning. I love the idea of splitting up all those sayings. Please share with us where you bought the wooden blocks to mount on. TIA Stacy

For me, the simpler the scrapbook page, the better. My bias is that you are documenting what happened. If there’s too much other stuff on the page, the moment gets lost. I would like to become a better photographer, though. I think that makes a huge difference. Your photo is awesome. A sweet moment captured! Thanks for sharing with us.

I love all of your scrapbook pages because they are clean and the focus is on the photos. I’m glad you don’t try to cram a bunch of stuff on the page ‘just because’. Your pictures are always great and it’s nice that the focus is on the memory and not the embellishments!

I love your pages, I think they are perfect and maybe that is because you don’t distract from them with too many elements. This page truly conforms to the card sketch beautifully, I love the papers and the great photo. TFS. Happy Belated Birthday.

I love that your scrapbook pages focus on the photos—don’t get me wrong, I love embellishments, too, but I find your scrapbook pages just the right combination of great background, with the photo the primary item. I do enjoy seeing your ideas and reading about you & your family (I laughed right out loud when I read how you were holding the lid up with your toe and needed to do more yoga!
You are an amazing woman to do all you accomplish! I have (3) boys (ages 11, 5 and almost 2)—it is about all I can manage to glance at all the fabulous things you’re creating and dream about finding the time to do it myself. The older I get, the harder it is to have my alone time from 10pm to 2 am and still function the next morning!

beate, i LOVE how simple your scrapbook pages are! i also prefer this size to the 12×12 version. too overwhelming to fill that much space! glad to see you had such a great time with rick while he was home. still praying for you and yours every time i visit your blog.
