Ruby Butterfly

Ever since I got my long rectangle Nestabilities I wanted to make a scallop square card with them.
I used the biggest template to cut my Ruby Red cardstock into a 3 1/8″ x 6 1/4″ rectangle and folded it in half to make my card base.
I cut down a Tea Time Designer Paper scrap to 1 1/4″ and 2 7/8″ and taped it on the bottom of the card front. Guava double stitched ribbon was tied around the top part of the designer paper.
I inked up only the word kind from the Kind Thought stamp set in Chocolate Chip and stamped it on Shimmery White cardstock. It was punched out with the Window Word Punch so that only one end was rounded. On the straight end I added a 1/4″ Groovy Guava circle and topped it off with a Pewter brad.
The butterfly from Kind Thoughts was first inked up with Ruby Red, then outlined with the Chocolate Chip marker and stamped on Shimmery White cardstock. It was cut out and layered on a 1 3/8″ Guava and a Chocolate Scallop circle.
I really like those little cards. I made another one to share with you later.

Love the card. I’m curious are the Nestabilities Long Rectangles available with scalloped edges or did you use two different ones? If they are, where did you find them?

I SOOOOOO love this card! I’m not sure why–I mean, specifically, that is. I always like all your stuff, but there is something about this card that is extra eye-catching to me. Maybe because it is “red.” Whatever it is—GREAT JOB!!!!!

Great Job! I keep thinking the same thing. I tried once with the circles but messed it up and haven’t had a chance to go back and try again. You have inspired me to try again! LOLOL!
