From today’s inspiration piece, I took the colors Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie, Regal Rose and Whisper White. I also knew I wanted to incorporate rectangles and circles. Here is what I came up with.

liveyourdreamsoftcirclesbic.jpg

The card base is a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Soft Sky cardstock folded in half.

Next is a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Old Olive cardstock followed by a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. The white layer was dry embossed with the Swiss Dot folder for the cuttlebug. Part of an 1″ Apricot circle was added to the upper left hand side. It was layered with a paper pierced 3/4″ Regal Rose circle and topped of with an Ice Circle Rhinestone brad.

The base of the main panel is a 3″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Soft Sky cardstock. On top of it are three 1 3/8″ x 2 3/4″ pieces of Whisper White cardstock. The panels were stamped with the flower from Live your Dreams. The flower was colored with markers (Apricot Appeal – Pumpkin Pie, Pretty in Pink – Regal Rose, Certainly Celery – Old Olive), sprayed with water mister and stamped on the white cardstock. A border was paper pierced on each panel and Striped Pumpkin Ribbon tied around all three.

The sentiment was stamped with Regal Rose ink on White cardstock. the lines as well as the smaller flower from Live your Dreams were stamped over the sentiment in Soft Sky and then punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch. That was layered on a 1 3/8″ Soft Sky and a Regal Rose Scallop circle. The white circle still looked a little empty so I added a paper pierced 1/2″ Soft Sky circle along with a 1/4″ Apricot circle and small green rhinestone brad to the bottom right of it.

Sorry this is so late. Rebecca had an award ceremony. Two more days and school is out here in the Okaloosa district.

I got to run and get groceries now! Have a wonderful day! Hugs and smiles

I think I got this image from the Martha Steward website. I am not 100% sure though.

Use the colors or the pattern….anything that will inspire you to create your card.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Ever since I got my February Stampin’ Success Magazine this year, I meant to case one of the card layouts. I just love the look of the spiral punch on the right hand side of the card. Well…I needed easy thank you cards and remembered the layout. While watching Army Wives I made eight of these.

I kept the layout of the card, just added ribbon and paper piercing and changed colors, paper and set. Easy peasy!

freshcutswasabithanksss08.jpg

The card base is a 3″ x 6″ strip of textured Wild Wasabi folded in half.

I used the Spiral punch to add the three notches to the top right of the card.

The 1 5/8″ x 3″ piece of Spring Silhouette Designer paper was taped to a slim 3″ strip of Chocolate Chip and the edge was paper pierced. Double Stitched Wasabi Ribbon was tied around the bottom of the strip, then it was adhered to the card base.

The sentiment is from Fresh Cuts. I inked up first Thank, then you and stamped both with Chocolate Chip ink on Whisper White cardstock. I punched it out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch, stamped the background stamp from Fresh Cuts over it in Soft Sky and layered it on a 1 3/8″ textured Wild Wasabi and scalloped Chocolate Chip circle. The edges of the white circle were paper pierced and the sentiment layers attached to the card base with dimensionals.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the challenge. I still have to check out entries from yesterday evening and today. But the cards I have seen so far are all amazing!

Random.org picked #86 as the winner of the sketch challenge.

That is Anja from Canada.

You can see more of her work on her blog Stampinganja.

Personal Note:
The kids and I liked Indiana Jones. George Lucas and Steven Spielberg made it look just like the older films of that series. I liked the last scene of the movie where the Mutt wants to pick up the hat of Indie….like taking over the legacy.
From the last three movies we have seen though, I would rate it last with Iron Man best of the three, then Narnia, then Indie.

I am almost done dusting, vaccuming and mopping the house. The cookies are baked. Next is my long cardio/toning CD from The Firm. Then hopefully I can catch some rays outside with a nice book before the kids come home.

Have a great Monday! Hugs and smiles

Sorry for not posting yesterday! I hosted a stamp camp yesterday. Friday night I prepped and Saturday morning until 2 p.m. was stamp camp. I had fun stamping with the three girls that came. I stamped all my extras so I would have some thank you cards to send out. After the camp I hang out in the backyard and read.

This morning I made this page. I used this weekend’s sketch as a starting point for the layout.

The picture was taking during the third grade violin concert.

Rebecca was soooo excited and proud.

The scrapbook page is a 6″ x 6″ piece of Basic Gray cardstock.

I cut down the picture to 4″ x 4 3/4″ and layered if first on a 1/4″ bigger piece of Purely Pomegranate (I thought that would work well with her lip color), then on a 1/2″ bigger piece of Basic black.

My 1 1/8″ x 6″ white strip was stamped with the Fresh Cuts background in Basic Gray, sponged around the edges and first layered on a 1/4″ bigger piece of Basic Black, then on a 3/8″ bigger piece of Purely Pomegranate. The bottom edge of the Pomegranate cardstock was scalloped with the corner rounder.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Taking Care of Business. It was stamped in Pomegranate and punched out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch. That was layered on a  1 3/8″ black circle and scalloped Basic Gray circle. The flower is from the Flower Fusion tin and has a Fire Circle Rhinestone brad in it’s center.

The day on the left hand side is from Fundamental Phrases (part of the birthday greeting). It was stamped in Gray on white cardstock and punched out with the Window Word punch. A 1/4″ black circle with another Fire Circle Rhinestone brad finish it off.

I journaled on the bottom with a 03 black Micron Pen.

Personal Note:

Today the kids and I will watch Indiana Jones. I am not that excited to go, but they can’t wait. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised just like with the Narnia movie last week! LOVED that one.

Have a great Sunday! Hugs and smiles
