I made this box for yesterday’s and todays tutorial on SCS as well as for the color challenge yesterday. Nothing better then multitasking when you are behind.
Carolyn King wrote a great tutorial for this little triangle box. I love the look of it and how easy it comes together. Jenn Balcer wrote a tutorial on how to make glazed paper pins. She used a melting pot and UTEE for her sample, I used Triple Glazed spray from Krylon (that took for freaking ever! Next time I will use UTEE or Crystal Effects!).
Yesterday’s Challenge color combo was: Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss. I used that plus Chocolate Chip….because you know that Chocolate and Chocolate Chip makes everything better!
I started out with a 3″ x 11″ piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock and scored and taped it as shown in the tutorial. The edges of the cardstock were sponged. Next I layered a 2 3/4″ sponged and ticket corner punched square of Kiwi Kiss on top of each side.
The 2 1/2″ Whisper White squares that followed were first stamped with Bella Toile background in Pretty in Pink, then ticket corner punched, paper pierced and sponged.
1″ Chocolate Satin ribbon was taped around the center of the box and Pink Taffeta ribbon was tied around it. I stamped the flower from Fabulous Flowers three times in Riding Hood Red on Shimmery White cardstock. Before stamping it, I rock n’ rolled the edges with Chocolate chip. I cut the flowers out, layered them with dimensionals and sprayed them with the Triple Glaze spray from Krylon. After it dried (try waiting a whole day!), I added Chocolate Kaiser pearls in the center of the flower and attached it to the box with dimensionals.
I added a clear bag, filled it with chocolate and tied it shut with Chocolate Taffeta Ribbon. I cut the smallest of the new Spellbinders Tag Shapes out twice, once in Shimmery White, once in Riding Hood Red. I cut the white tag out on the embossed line, stamped the sentiment from Holidays & Wishes on the tag in Chocolate Chip, stamped the Fabulous flower over it in second generation Pretty in Pink and sponged the edges first with Pretty in Pink, then in Riding Hood Red. I sponged the Red tag first with Riding Hood Red, then lightly with Chocolate Chip and taped the smaller white layer on top. I added an eyelet on top of the tag and tied it to the ribbon with white embroidery floss.

I almost missed this one – good thing I didn’t. It looks great!! I’d like to give the pin a try. My Mom loves pins. I wonder if she’s wear a stamped one, though… It could be one for her collection, I guess!
