Last Monday the Technique Lover Challenge at SCS was to create a Tent card. That was a fun challenge. I followed the instructions given at the challenge, but next time I make one of these cards, I make it out of two pieces not three. Just a 8 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of cardstock folded in half and a smaller piece scored for the bottom part.

For this card I cut two 4 1/4″ pieces of Bermuda Bay cardstock for front and bottom of the card. The inner part of the card front was cut down so it would only be a 3/4″ wide frame left. A 3 3/4″ square of My Mind’s eye Love me Do Paper was adhered to a 3 15/16″ Whisper White square. A window was cut into the center with Label 1 Nestabilities. A strip of Boo! To You My Mind’s Eye paper was cut with the Scalloped Scallop Die-namic die, sponged with Peeled Paint Distress ink and adhered to the bottom of the window layers. A border was stitched around the edges. A 4″ square of Love me Do paper was adhered to the back of the card.

The owl from Thinking of Hoo was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was colored with Copic Markers (E27, E29, E31, E35, E97, YR14). It was cut out and adhered to the window. Leaves were cut with the SizzixLittle Leaves die, sponged with Peeled paint. A bit of definition with Copic Marker YG25.

The layers were adhered to the card front and the front was attached to the back with Basic Grey Brads. Clouds were cut out of Neenah Solar White cardstock with the Cloud Die-namic die, sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress ink and adhered to the card top. Stardust stickles were added to the edge of the clouds and the sentiment of the set was stamped inside the biggest cloud with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

To add a little something something, I rolled a May Arts striped ribbon into a flower, added a half pearl from Stampin’ Up!’s Pretties kit on top and another Little Leaves die cut out of Boo! to you paper in the bottom right corner. To finish off the tent card I scored a 3″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock every 3/4″, folded the score lines Mountain/Valley style and taped it to the bottom of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day! Hugs and smiles
