I made this card for an inspiration challenge on SCS. I had a blast making this card. As soon as I saw this picture on Layla Grace’s website, I knew I wanted to turn this into a card. Especially since had just received an order of October Afternoon paper, which included Note sheet paper.

Doesn’t it look so pretty? I started out by stamping Flourishes Roses from Year in Flowers 2 in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Gina K Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock. It was cut out with Petite Oval Nestabilities and the images were colored with Copic Markers (B21, BG10, R01, R32, R46, G21, YG63, YG67). The image was stitched to a slightly bigger Basic Black oval, then on a Rose Red cardstock piece cut with Label 10 Nestabilities.

The card base is a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock folded in half. The edges of a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of October Afternoon Good Cheer paper were distressed, sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink and sewn to a 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. 1″ wide Cherry Blossom Pink Silk Ribbon was tied around the left side of the of the layers. A button was tied over the top of the bow with embroidery floss. A Maja Road Trinket Pin was added to the bow/button combo. A strip of lace (JoAnn’s) was taped on the lower half of the musical sheet.

The sentiment is from Flourishes Beauty Within stamp set. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Ivory cardstock and cut out with Petite Oval Nestabilities. The edges were sponged with Antique Linen and part of the Rose image was stamped over it with the same ink. The sentiment was partly adhered over the image and the image layer was adhered to the card base with dimensionals. The card was finished off with Champagne colored Kaisercraft Pearls.

For the inside of the card the edges of a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Ivory cardstock were sponged with Antique Linen, distressed and adhered to a 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. The edges of a 1 3/16″ x 4″ piece of Good Cheer Paper were distressed and sponged first with Antique Linen, then with Spun Sugar Distress ink and the layers were stitched together. The image was stamped in Antique Linen to the lower right corner, then sponged with Spun Sugar.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day! Hugs and smiles

  13. I like to learn how you can combine different nestabilities – labels 10 and petite ovals here. I think I have seen labels 6 with petite ovals also. Is there a place that can tell me which different nestabilities pair well together?
