When I looked through the Inspiration site for the last Inspiration challenge on Splitcoast, I knew what I wanted to do as soon as I saw this image.

misoprettyic245.jpg

I hadn’t used the big branch of Flourishes Cherry Blossoms stamp set and this was the perfect reason to. I wanted to add a slightly darker blue, but I need to get me some refill for my BG000, so I used the lighter BG0000 instead.

The image was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut with Petite Oval Nestabilities and colored with Copic Markers (blossoms R30, RV42, leaves G82, G94, Branch E47, E49, background: BG0000, BG01, tag R30, R000). The image was layered on Cherry Cobbler cardstock, cut and embossed with Label 10 Nestabilities.

The card base is a 5 3/4″ x 9″ piece of Textured Chocolate Chip cardstock (Stampin’ Up!) folded in half. The edge of the card front was colored with Copic Marker E49 so it would match the branch in the image.

A 2″ x 4″ piece of Weathervane October Afternoon Paper was adhered to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Cherry Hill October Afternoon paperThen the layers were stitched to a 4 3/16″ x 5 7/16″ on Whisper White cardstock. Webster’s Pages Trim was adhered over the Weathervane strip.

The sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut with Petite Oval Nestabilities. The embossed part of the tag was colored with R20 and R000 Copic Markers. It was layered on a Fancy tag cut with a Spellbinders die.  The card was finished off with Lush Kaisercraft Pearls.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Hugs and smiles

  27. This is wonderful! I love the way your cherry blossom colors are echoed in the background paper. The choice of black polka dots to punch it up is such an inspired and unexpected choice, and they echo the black stems of the blossom branch. I love it!
