Flourishes posted a challenge last week called Kids Play. You were to create a card inspired by child’s play. Since I wanted to use flowers, I figure I could be inspired by “Ring Around the Roses”. I stamped the Spring Bouquet with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers (R30, R32, R35 (Peony), R01, R02, R14 (Sweet Peas), BV02, BV04, BV13 (Lilacs), B21, B23 (blue flowers), G21, G24, YG67 (leaves), Y15, Y0000 (glow) ). The image was cut out with Petite Oval Nestabilities and layered on a piece of Black cardstock cut with the Scalloped Edge Frame from Spellbinders.

fllcspringbouquetf4a24take2.jpg

Because of the size of the main image, the card base was made a bit bigger. It was created out of a 4 3/4″ x 12″ piece of Core’dinations Cardstock folded in half. A 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Oh La La My Mind’s Eye paper was stitched to 4 3/8″ x 5 5/8″ piece of Wshiper White cardstock. White Silk Ribbon from May Arts was tied around the upper half of the layers before they were adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

The sentiments is also from Spring Bouquet. It was stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut and embossed with Spellbinders Double Ended Tags. Yellow Kaisercraft Pearls finish off the card front.

fllcspringbouquetinside.jpg

As always the inside of the card is super simple. I just can’t leave it completely blank. It looks so “naked” to me. The punch used on the black cardstock is from Stampin’ Up!. The My Mind’s Eye paper strip measures 1 1/2″ x 4 3/8″.

As you can tell from my latest posts I really enjoy playing with my Copic Markers. I will be coloring in the Dick Blick Store in Columbus the coming Sunday (08/15th) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you live close by, I would love for you to come by and hang out with me! I am very excited Marianne asked me to demo for customers in the store. How cool is that!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Today’s tutorial on Splitcoast  was written by Sherry Cheever, aka. Bad Sherry! She shows us how to create the Faux Bleach look with Alcohol inks. I created my card the same way, just substituted the Alcohol inks for Copic Refills. It works just as well.

The image is from Unity’s Moments in Bloom/Naturally you store kit. It was stamped in Embossing ink on glossy cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder. Next Y35, YG25 and B21 Copic Refills were added to a Felt Applicator and dabbed over the glossy cardstock. The image was then cut with Classic Circle Nestabilities, covered with a piece of scrap paper and ironed over until the embossed layer was gone. The image was then layered on a slightly bigger white circle, then on a scalloped chocolate chip circle cut with Big Scalloped Circle Nestabilities.

unitymomentsinbloomalcoholf.jpg

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Sour Apple cardstock  folded in half. I spend about 30 minutes in the October Afternoon booth at CHA talking with their staff there and they gave me a Seaside paper pad. How sweet was that? I did my own sharing with the amazing Debbie Olson and split the pack with her. For this card I used a 3 3/4″ square of the new paper and sewed it to a 3 15/16″ square of white cardstock.

The sentiment is from the same Unity Kit. It was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and cut with Petite Oval Nestabilities. I left the die on and airbrushed the oval with YR35.

A hole was punched in the lower left hand side of the main panel. Through that May Arts ribbon was threaded and tied in a bow. The sentiment was adhered next to it with dimensionals. To finish off the card I added Chocolate Kaisercraft Pearls in the three open corners.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

I am so excited that The Cat’s Pajama’s is now a member company on Splitcoast! I love the darling images and the hilarious sentiments. I saw that you were supposed to make a cupcake card for the Crazy4Challenges and thought of this darling stamp right away.

The image was stamped with Black Soot Distress Ink on Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored  with Copic Markers (R22, R24, R29, E02, E04, YR12, YR15, YR16, YR21, YR31, Y32, Y35, W00, W01, W3, B0000, YG03, YG05) and cut it out with Classic Circle Nestabilities. The image was then layered on a slightly bigger black circle and a Scalloped Octangle cut out of Stampin’ Up!’s Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. Stardust Stickles was added to the frosting of the cupcake on my (dirty) snow.

tcpgrownupcupcakebeate.jpg

The card base is a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Textured Old Olive cardstock folded in half. A  4 3/4″ X 2 1/4″ Strip of Pretty Please paper (My Mind’s Eye) was cut with Jumbo Scallop Borderabilities and adhered to a 4 3/4″ square of the same paper pack. the layers were then stitched to a 4 15/16″ square of Whisper White cardstock. Thin white zic zac ribbon was adhered where the horizontal strip ended before Seafoam Organdy ribbon was tied around the layers.

The sentiment was stamped with Black Soot ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and cut with Classic Oval Nestabilities. Kaisercraft Clear Rhinestones on the border stamp from the set finish off the card front.

tcpgrownupcupcakeinside.jpg

The inside of the card is very simple. A 2″ x 4 15/16″ strip of Pretty Please My Minds Eye paper was cut and embossed with the Jumbo Scallop Borderabilities. A 3/8″ Cherry Cobbler strip was adhered to the the top of the layer and then stitched to a 4 15/16″ square of Whisper White cardstock. Happy Birthday was stamped on the Cherry strip with Black Distress ink and three small clear Rhinestones were added to the left.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

I love this Pure Innocence image. I love them all, but this one seems especially cute. Maybe it’s the clothes that remind me of Rebecca’s. Maybe it’s the way she stands with the flower behind her back. Anyway…I had to use her as soon as I she came in the mail and I knew I wanted to use her in one of the video tutorials.

The Flower Girl Image was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White Cardstock and colored with Copic Markers (YG25, YG17, R35, R37, C03, C05, C07,  E31, E25, E29, E51, E53, E55). It was cut out with Classic Circle Nestabilities and layered on a Chocolate Chip layer cut and embossed with Blossom Nestabilities.

mftflowergirlsliderfront.jpg

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Early Espresso Cardstock folded in half. The slider part was created out of Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was topped with a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Report Card October Afternoon Paper. A 2″ x 3 3/4″ strip of Early Bird Cosmo Cricket was adhered to the lower half of the slider part and Gingham ribbon was tied around.  A small heart pin was added to the bow.The image was adhered to the front with dimensionals. The card front was finished off with Prima Flowers.

mftflowergirlslideropen.jpg

When you pull out the slider part, you will find a My Favorite Things Sentiment stamped on the matching Framed Greetings Die-namics die cut-out. The cut out was airbrushed with the same marker used to airbrush the main image.

mftflowergirlsliderinside.jpg

The inside was kept pretty simple. I just have a hard time leaving them completely blank.

I created this card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge. It was a tough one last week. We were to use NO embellishments. No ribbon, no brads, no rhinestones, no pearls….say WHAT? Definitely a challenge. For that I just picked a big image to cover most of my card. I also used the sketch from Midnight’s Madness Sketch challenge from last week.

First I stamped the Seed package from Flourishes Seeds of Kindness on one of Tim Holtz Mask Sheet. I cut out the mask and set it aside. Next I stamped the image on Natural White Neenah cardstock with Black Soot Distress ink. The image was covered up and the raspberries from Berry Sweet, also from Flourishes. The image was colored with Copic Markers (RV21, R24, RV29 (Berries), G21, G24, G85 (Leaves), E30, E31, E33, E34, E37 (Sign))

fllcraspberrieshandpickedft.jpg

The image was layered on a Scalloped Frame cut and embossed on Chocolate Chip Cardstock. The card base is  a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Kraft cardstock, folded in half. A 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Natural White Neenah was embossed with Tim Holtz Checkerboard Embossing folder, layered with a Cherry Cobbler cardstock strip that was cut with Jumbo Scallop Borderabilities.

To add just a little something something, I covered the round sign completely with Glossy Accents. I also added Glossy Accent to the Raspberries, but for those I dabbed it on to create a more bumpy texture.

Check out this cute image. I found it when I checked the Copic Challenge Blog . The challenge is all about Reading. Copic Challenge blog teamed up with Elizabeth Dulemba, an award winning Children’s book author/illustrator. She offers some of her images for free to print out. I picked out the Reading Fairy for my card and printed her out on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut out with Petite Oval Nestabilities and colored it with Copic Markers (YG21, YG23, YG25, YG17 (Clothes) E51, E53 (skin), R12 (lips), Y23, Y26, Y28 (hair), E41, E43, E44 (book), B91, B000 (wings), Y00 (outline). The image was layered on a scalloped oval cut out of Chocolate Chip cardstock.

The edges of a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of October Afternoon Fly A Kite Store Paper were sanded, then the layer was stitched to a 4 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Basic Black cardstock. The combined layers were adhered to a Baja Breeze card base (4 1/4″ x 11″, folded in half).

A 1 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ strip of Neenah Solar White cardstock was cut with Lattice Borderabilities, a 1 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Baja Breeze with Eyelet Borderabilities. Along with a 1 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ strip of Fly A Kite October afternoon paper strip, the strips were fanned out and adhered to the lower part of the card. The sketch for this card was this week’s Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. I covered the ends of the strips on the right hand side with a white Prima Flower that was topped with a brown button. Three brown dew drops finish off the card.

Back in 2008 Carolyn King created a cute Triangle Treat Box tutorial for the Holiday Blitz week on Splitcoast. For my sample for the video I started out a 3″ x 11″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock.  After the box was assembled I layered it’s 3″ square sides with 2 1/2″ squares of Report Card October Afternoon Paper was stitched to a 2 11/16″ square of white cardstock.

mftbeautifuldaytriangletrea.jpg

The label was cut with a Framed Greeting Die-namic die and stamped with the matching stamp set. The flower was cut with the Rolled flower Die-namics die out of Cajun Craze Cardstock (Stampin’ Up!). The flower was spritzed with Smooch Spritz for a soft shimmer. The flower was layered on a Olive Silk ribbon bow. A  trinket pin finishes off the flower. Clear Kaisercraft Rhinestones were added to the label to tie in the hat pin.

I created this card back in June for one of the Color challenges as well as for a Midnight Madness sketch challenge. To start out with I cut and embossed a rectangle out of Neenah Solar White cardstock with Classic Rectangle Nestabilities. I stamped the the chair from Flourishes Beach Life on the lower right hand corner with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored the image and created a landscape with Copic Markers ( y11.jpgy18.jpgy19.jpgyr14.jpgyr18.jpge99.jpge43.jpge55.jpgbg000.jpgbg10.jpgbg13.jpgbg15.jpgbg18.jpgg94.jpgyg99.jpg). The image was layered on a black scalloped rectangle that had been cut with Nestabilities. Dew drops were added to the top right of the image.

fllcbeachlifecc277beate.jpg

The card base is a  4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock folded in half. A 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Farm Fresh October Afternoon paper  was first dry embossed with Tim’s Ray Embossing Folder, then it was stitched to a 3 15/16″ X 5 3/16″ piece of Basic Black cardstock.

Three edges of a 2 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Weathervane October Afternoon paper were stitched and the attached to the card base with dimensionals. White organdy ribbon was tied around the lower part of the image layers and heated to distress. A sentiment also from the Beach Life set was stamped with Tuxedo black on a Neenah Solar white piece of cardstock that had been cut with Petite Oval Nestabilities.

fllcbeachlifec277inside.jpg

The inside of the card is pretty simple, like always.  A 1 3/8″ x 3 3/4″ piece of October Afternoon paper was adhered to a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of white cardstock. That was stitched to a 3 15/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of Basic Black cardstock before the layers were adhered to the inside of the card with dimensionals. The horizon stamp from the Beach Life set was stamped on the upper left side with Broken China Distress ink.

Today’s tutorial on Splitcoast is written by Roni Johnson. It’s for the Distress Glue technique. For my sample I cut a square with Classic Square Nestabilities, added Tacky Glue, let it dry and then sponged it with Weathered Wood and Stormy Sky Distress ink. The square was layered on a black Fair Isle Pendant.

unitybravegirldistressedglu.jpg

A 4 1/2″ square of Webster’s Pages paper was stiched to a 4 11/16″ square of black cardstock. A 4 1/2″ strip of Neenah Solar White cardstock was cut with the Lattice Borderabilities and adhered to the lower half of the square. A hole was punched in the lower right hand side of my main image before it was adhered to the card front with dimensionals. Pink Satin Ribbon was tied through that hole and around the layers and topped with a button. My card base is a 5″ x 10″ piece of Textured Old Olive cardstock folded in half. The layers were attached to the card base with dimensionals.

The butterfly lady (or as Jenn and I call her “Frida”) is from the Unity set Brave Girl. It was stamped in Black Soot Distress Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored with Copic Markers (c9.jpge0000.jpge01.jpgyg93.jpgyg95.jpgy28.jpge35-copy.jpgyr21-copy.jpgyr23.jpg). White Opal Liquid Pearls were added to her dress and a Kaisercraft Pearls Pearl as her earring. The butterfly wings were colored with the clear Spica Pen for a subtle shimmer. She was cut out and adhered to the square with dimensionals.

unitybravegirlglueinside.jpg

The inside of the card is pretty simple. I used the left over strip (1 1/2″ wide) from the Webster’s Pages paper from the front, cut it down to 4 1/2″ and adhered it to a 4 1/2″ Solar White square. The square was stitched to a 4 11/16″ basic black cardstock piece before it was adhered to the inside of the card.

On Wednesday last week SCS posted a Product Review for Smooch™ Spritz. It’s always fun to try out product new to me. It helps me get out of my comfort zone. Pearlized Spray is a bit messy, so I had stayed away from it until now. I did have a great time playing with it and trying out different ways to use it.

Because I was at the CHA and had too much fun hanging out with old friends and making new ones, I am posting my sample along with the video I shot for the product now.

oclvintagetravelersmooched.jpg

For this sample I used the spray two different ways. First I used Cosmic Pink Smooch Spritz to dye my white flower (Stampin’ Up! Pretties Kit) and my white cotton ribbon. While those were drying I stamped the Eiffel Tower image from OCL’s Vintage Traveler (new set, should be available really soon) Embossing Ink on Basic Grey cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I sprayed Citrus Tickle and Green Olive Smooch Spritz over that, let it dry and buffed the surface a bit with a damp rag to make my Eiffel tower show up more.

The layer was stitched to a 3 15/16″ square of white cardstock. My pink flower as adhered to the lower left corner with dimensionals after a Philosophy tag was added in the center with a small brad. The ribbon was attached with an Antique Brad (Stampin’ Up!) on the upper right hand corner.

oclvintagetravelersmoochins.jpg

For the inside of the card I stamped the Eiffel Tower in Pumice Stone Distress ink on the lower right hand side  of a 3 3/4″ square of Neenah Solar White cardstock and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Citrus Tickle and Green Olive were sprayed over it. I left most of the left hand side white for a personal message.

The square was stitched on a 3 15/16″ square of White cardstock before it was adhered to the inside of the card.
