Tomorrow is release day for new stamps at Krafty Kimmie stamps. Since I am a Krafty Guest this month, I had the fun job of playing with some of the new images early. This one is called Squirrel in Love, although in my head…it’s the Ice Age Squirrel. I had so much fun coloring it. The image was stamped on X Press It blending card with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers (Squirrel: E31, E33, E35 Acorn bottom: E53, E97, E08 E99 Acorn Top: E55, E57, E59 Nose: E01, E04 Heart: R24, R27, R39 Grass: G20, G21, G24). The image was cut out with Classic Oval Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker B00. The image was then layered on a slightly bigger piece of Red cardstock cut and embossed with Classic Nestabilities (and the edges colored with Copic Marker R39), then on a Espresso cardstock piece cut and embossed with  Beaded Oval Nestabilities.

Note on the cardstock:
I like coloring on the new X Press It blending card. My favorite paper for coloring with Copics before was Neenah Solar white. It is a very soft paper (meaning the color blends really well but if you are not careful, the color feathers out). X Press It Blending card is a more dense paper, but it blends wonderfully. I like it, but I don’t know if it will replace Neenah from MY favorite spot just yet.

Okay….as the sentiment from new Thankful Sentiments set says…I went a little nuts with the rhinestones. I just couldn’t help myself. First I added a bunch of Silver Kaisercraft Rhinestones all around my Beaded Oval. Next I cut and embossed two hearts out of red cardstock (and colored both with R39) and two scalloped hearts out of Early Espresso cardstock. The hearts were adhered on top of each other, then Tiny Twinkles were adhered to the hearts. The sentiments was cut and embossed with Petite Oval Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker B12.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock folded in half. A 1 1/2″ x 4″ and 3″ x 4″ piece of Be Loved My Mind’s Eye paper were stitched to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece from the same paper pack. White Crinkled Ribbon (May Arts) was colored with my darkest Copic Color used in the image (G24) and tied around the card. A Making Memories Brad topped off the bow. A Bo Bunny Rhinestone was adhered on top of the brad.

The inside of the card is pretty simple. A 1 1/2″ x 4″ strip of Be Loved My Mind’s Eye paper was adhered out to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. More green colored ribbon was tied around the top of her strip. Another small layered heart was attached under the knotted ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day! Hugs and smiles
