I created this card for last weeks Color Challenge, the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge and the Midnight Madness Challenge.  I cut and embossed a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock (thinner then Neenah) with the four biggest Lacey Circle Nestabilities. I layered the three largest lacey circles on top of each other to create a lacey doily. It’s not my idea. The fabulous Bekka Feeken posted it on SCS and I had to try it out. The card also works great for Simon Says Challenge, to use Pearls and Lace.

I stamped the berries from Flourishes Berry Sweet in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Classic Cream, cut it with Classic Nestabilities and colored it with Copic Markers (Berries: RV11, RV17, RV19, RV69, Berry Center: YR21, YR23, Leaves: YG91, YG93, YG95, YG99). I airbrushed the circle with the die still on with Copic Marker B23.

A 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Webster’s Pages paper was adhered to a 5″ x 5 1/4″ piece of the same paper pack. Melissa Frances lace was adhered over the horizontal strip, then the edges of the paper was stitched. The circle center was adhered to the center of the card with dimensionals. Two Basic Grey buttons were stitched to the top right corner.

The sentiment is from the same set. It was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Neenah Classic Cream, cut with Petite Nestabilities and airbrushed with B23. The berries were partially stamped on the left hand side with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. It was layered on a piece of Webster’s Pages cut and embossed with a Fancy Tag die.  Denium Kaisercraft pearls around the Lacey circles finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.

For my sample I used the Flourishes set Wreath of All Seasons and a sketch from a previous Flourishes challenge. I stamped the sunflower wreath in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut and embossed with Circle  Nestabilities and colored with Copic Markers (Flower leaves: Y17, YR15, YR14, Flower center: E97, E99, E08, E19, Leaves: G82, G94, G85, Wisteria BV01, BV02, background: custom color 1/5 YR31, 4/5 blending solution). The image was layered on a slightly bigger Chocolate Chip circle and a Chocolate Chip piece cut and embossed with  Spellbinders Fancy Tags.

The card base is a 4 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ piece of textured Chocolate Chip cardstock folded in half. A 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Weathervane October Afternoon paper was sanded and adhered to a sanded 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of The Thrift Store October Afternoon Paper. The layers were stitched to a 4 3/16″ x 5 7/16″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. White May Arts Silk Ribbon was tied around the vertical strip before the main image was adhered with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the same set. It was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut with Petite Oval Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker BV02. To finish the card off Pearl Kaisercraft Pearls were colored with BV02 to match the rest of the card and adhered to the top right corner of the card.

I hope you have time to play! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hugs and smiles.

Here is another card I made for yesterday’s review. Again I used the Kids at Play set from Flourishes. This time I stamped the girl in Jet Black Archival Ink on Vanilla cardstock. It was cut with Classic Oval Nestabilities and airbrushed with BG32 and Y17 Copic Markers. Besides the Lacey Circles I showed off yesterday, I also received the Crowned Oval Nestabilities. I cut and embossed black cardstock with the biggest dies and adhered my image on top of it. Champagne Kaisercraft Pearls were added to most of the crown parts of my die cut.

fllckidsatplaycrownedoval.jpg

Two 4″ long strips of Very Vanilla cardstock were cut and embossed with Eyelet Borderabilities and stitched to a 2 3/4″ x 4″ piece of Thrift Store October Afternoon Paper. A 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Thrift Store paper was stitched to a 1/4″ bigger piece of basic black cardstock. The smaller strip was adhered to the other layers and yellow ribbon was tied around it. Then the layers were adhered to the card base, a 4 1/2″ x 11 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock folded in half.

The sentiment is also from Kids on Play set. It was stamped in Jet Black Archival ink on Vanilla cardstock and cut out with Fancy Tag dies. Yellow Kaisercraft Pearls were added to the top right of the card to finish it off.

A small black strip cut and embossed with Eyelet Borderabilities was adhered to more Thrift Store paper. The layers were adhered to 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Vanilla cardstock and then stitched to a 1/4″ bigger piece of black cardstock.

Wohoo! I finally got my first Krafty Kimmie stamps. What was I waiting so long for? I created this card for the Krafty Kimmie Challenge #44. The sketch and challenge hostess this week is Michelle Boyer. The card also works for the current Copic challenge (Pleats or Folds).

kraftykimmie_44.jpg

For my card I chose the cute image Batty Princess. I colored her with Copic Markers (Dress: YG21, YG23, YG25, YR12, YR16, YR18, Skin: E0000, E00, hair: YR21, E97, E99 Shoes: N5, N7, N9, Y28 Wings: C1, C3, C5 Bat: N3, N5, N7 Shadow: B0000, B000) and cut her with the Curved Rectangle Nestabilities dies. To make the wings hang out of the edges of the shape, I cut the wings and then used the Nestabilities. You can find a tutorial for this technique here on Splitcoast.

kksbattykksc44beate.jpg

The card base is a 6″ x 12″ strip of textured black cardstock folded in half. The all the patterned paper on this card are from My Mind’s Eye paper pack called Boo to you.

The green piece measures 3 1/2″ x 5″. It was adhered to a 5 1/2″ square of black patterned paper piece, which was stitched to a 5 3/4″ square of white cardstock. The orange layer measures 3 3/4″ x 4 1/4″. Two layers were stitched and Melissa Frances lace was adhered to the upper right edge of the paper.

The black circle was cut with the second smallest die from the new Lacey Circle Nestabilities, the white circle with regular Classic Circle Nestabilities. The circle was airbrushed with Copic Marker GY25. The sentiment strip was colored with Copic Markers B0000 and B000. Orange and Split Pea Kaisercraft Rhinestones on the top left corner finish off the corner.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful weekend!

Taylored Expressions is celebrating our two year anniversary in September! To celebrate and kick of the newest release several designers are participating in a birthday bash blog hop. If you came from Ana Wohlfahrt’s blog, you’re on the right track! The amazing Debbie Olson is next on the hop! Or if you want to start from the beginning then head back to Taylor’s blog.

I chose this darling duck stampfrom the newest Ala Carte images. I thought the image plus the matching sentiment were too cute. You can find all new released stamp sets in the store now. Check out the great specials Taylor is running to celebrate her companies second birthay.

I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink  on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it in with Copic Markers (ducks: Y13, Y 15, Beak: Y17, YR04, Grass: YG23, YG25). The image was cut with long oval Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker BG11. It was layered on a black piece of cardstock that was cut with long scallop oval Nestabilities.

teducksinarowbeate.jpg

My card base is a 6 1/2″ x 8 1/4″ piece of Sour Apple Cardstock folded in half. A 1 1/2″ x 6″ piece of October Afternoon Thrift Store paper strip was adhered to a 3 1/2″ x 6″ of another pattern from the same paper pack. The layers were stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of black cardstock.

1/2″ wide Seam Binding was colored with Copic Marker YR04 and tied over the top edge of the horizontal strip. A yellow button was tied over the bow.  Two small Basic Grey orange buttons were stitched to the top right of the layers before adhering them to the card base.

The sentiment was stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock and cut with a double ended Tag die and airbrushed with Copic Marker Y15. The card was finished off by adding Black Kaisercraft Rhinestones to the tag ends as well as the lower left hand corner.

teducksinarowinside.jpg

For the inside of the card A 1 1/4″ x 6″ piece of Thrift Store paper was layered on a  3 1/2″ x 6″ piece of white cardstock, topped with more Seam Binding and stitched to a 3/16″ piece of Basic Black cardstock.  The other sentiment of the set was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and cut with the bigger Double ended tag die and airbrushed with BG11. A few more black Rhinestones were added to finish the inside of the card.

verveblessingssc295wide.jpg

I created this card last Wednesday after I received my Verve order in the mail. I had to use the gorgeous Blessings set right away. It was perfect for the Sketch challenge that day.

I cut an oval out of Neenah Solar White cardstock with Petite Oval Nestabilities, stamped the sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, the swirl with Shabby Shutter Distress ink and sponged the oval with Antique Linen.

verveblessings-sc295beate.jpg

The card base is a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Core’dination cardstock folded in half. A 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Webster’s Pages paper was stitched to a 1/4″ bigger piece of black cardstock. A black piece of cardstock cut with Label 8 Nestabilities and adhered in the center of the paper.Melissa Frances lace was adhered over the lower half of the paper, partly over the black label. The oval was adhered over the label with dimensionals.

I created another tissue flowerwith the Lacey Circle Nestabilities, secured the layers with a Recollection Brad (Michaels) and sponged it with Fired Brick Distress Ink. It was adhered to the lower left of the oval. Snow Kaisercraft pearls were added to the right of the oval and Rose Kaisercraft pearls on the top right corner to finish off the card.

Today’s tutorial on SCS is written by Lydia Fiedler and it called “Blended Pencils“. You stamp a silhouette stamp with a light colored ink and add colored pencils over it.

vervekindwordsblendedpencil.jpg

For my sample I used Verve’s new set Kind Words and this weeks Midnight Madness sketch. I stamped the image in Antique Linen Distress Ink on Neenah Classic Creamand colored it with Prismacolor Pencils. It was cut with Classic Circle Nestabilities and spongedwith Antique Linen Distress Ink and layered on a Chocolate Chip cardstock circle. One of the sentiments of the set was stamped in Antique Linen over the image and the edge of the layer was paper pierced.

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 6 1/2″ piece of Old Olive cardstock folded in half. A 3 3/4″ square of Cosmo Cricket Togetherness patterned paper was stitched to a 1/4″ bigger piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock. On the left is another patterned paper from the same pack measuring 1 3/4″ x 3 1/2″. Three sides of that paper strip were stitched and three green buttons were added to the top left of the strip. Lace was added to the lower half of it.

A Lacey Circlewas cut and embossed out of Neenah Classic Cream cardstock and adhered to the card base a bit off center. The patterned paper strip was adhered over it with dimentionals and the main image was adhered over it. The sentiment is also from the set Kind Words. Look what it says!!! How cool is that? And I didn’t even notice it until I was stamping with the set today. Made me smile big time!

I had to ink the sentiment in parts and stamp it a bit closer together with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on Classic Cream cardstock. It was cut with Petite Oval Nestabilities and sponged with Antique Linen cardstock. The sentiment was adhered over the image circle to finish off the card.

vervekindnessblendedpencils.jpg

The inside of the card was decorated with same patterned paper and stamps as the card front.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day
Hugs and smiles (*grin*….I can stamp that now! LOL)
