For yesterday’s Product Review, I created a tutorial for the Faux Dry Embossing Technique. I thought that technique was perfect for the Xyron Create-a-Sticker.

A 4″ square of Neenah Solar White cardstock was stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Early Espresso cardstock. More Neenah Solar White cardstock was cut with the smaller snowflake dies from Create-a-Flake 1 and Create-a-Flake 2. The snowflakes were run through the Xyron machine and adhered to the white cardstock square.  The layers were adhered to a 4 5/8″ x 9 1/4″ piece of Berrylicious cardstock folded in half.

The image is from My Favorite Things Flurries of Love. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers (Hat, boots and coat trimR24, R27, R29, R39, Scarf: BG11, BG13 Scarf: BG93, BG96, Skin: E51, E53, R20). It was cut with Classic Circle Nestabilities, airbrushedwith Copic Marker BG000 and layered on a piece of Berrylicious cardstock cut and embossed with Lacey Circle Nestabilities. Fine glitter was added over the falling snowflakes, Chunky Crystal Crafty Sparkles over the snow on the ground.

The sentiment is from the same set. It was stamped on Neenah Solar White Cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, cut and embossed with Petite Oval Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker BG93. To finish off the card front a bow out of Polka Dotted grosgrain ribbon (retired Stampin’ Up! ribbon) was added to the lower right corner of the image and Silver Kaisercraft Rhinestones in the center of the big snowflakes.

For today’s product review on SCS we got to play with Xyron’s 1.5″ Create-a-Sticker. I really like using this nifty tool for adhering smaller die cut shapes.

For this sample I used the Xyron Create-a-Sticker to add adhesive to two 1/2″ circles as well as a strip of cardstock cut with My Favorite Things Jumbo Ric Rac die. I ran both the ric rac and the circles through the Xyron, took off the liner and covered them in Primrose Glass Glitter.

The image is from My Favorite Things Merry Kissmas. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Xpress it Blending card and colored with Copic Markers (hat: C1, C3, C5, RV13, RV15, RV17 Scarf: BG11, BG32, BG13 Skirt: E41, E42, E43, E44 Stockings: E40 Skin: E0000, E00, R20 Branch: E27, E29). The image was cut and embossed with Square Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker  BG000. It was layered first on a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock cut and embossed with the next size square Nestabilities, then on a piece of black cardstock, cut and embossed with the Fair Isle Pendant die.

The card base is a 5″ x 10″ piece of Core’dination cardstock folded in half. A 4 1/4″ square of Mitten Weather paper was stitched to a 3 1/6″ bigger piece of Basic Black cardstock before that was adhered to a 1/4″ bigger piece of White cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, cut with Petite Oval Nestabilitiesand airbrushed with Copic Marker BG11. A White Linen Ribbon bow topped with a Recollections glitter brad and a few silver Kaisercraft Rhinestones on the top left  corner finish off the card front.

This is a little tea bag holder. Since I don’t drink tea, I wouldn’t give tea as a gift. So I filled it with Ghirardelli chocolate instead. Because….who doesn’t like chocolate (well…I did meet a few people that don’t like chocolate, but that’s just plain weird!). I created it as a sample for video tutorial for the tea bag holder tutorial.

The holder base is a 3 1/2″ x 7 3/4″ piece of Eggplant Envy cardstock. It was stamped with the swirl and bats from Witching you a Happy Halloween set in Dusty Concord Distress ink.  The inside sleeves were created out of My Mind’s Eye Boo to you paper, adhered to the center with Scor-Tape. Recollection glitter brads were added to reinforce the hold.  May Arts black/cream gingham ribbon was tied around the holder with a gorgeous ribbon buckle (I got from a friend).

The witches hat from Witching you a Happy Halloween  was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on X-Press It Blending card and colored with Copic Markers (hat: V15, V17, V09, YG01, YG03, YG17, C5, C7 Rose: R17, R29, YR04). The image was cut and embossed with Classic Square Nestabilities and airbrushed with Marker YR04 . Glossy Accents was added over the rose, Stardust Stickles over the green stripes on the hat .

The square was layered on a slightly larger piece of Sour Apple cardstock. The edges were colored with YG03 before the image layer was adhered to it.  A border was paper pierced and Silver Kaisercraft Rhinestones were added The bottom layer is a piece of Basic Black cardstock cut and embossed with the Fleur De Lis Pendant die.

The sentiment is from the same set. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock that  had been cut and embossed with Petite Oval Nestabilities. The oval was airbrushed first with Copic Marker R17, then with YR04. Another medium size bat was stamped, this time in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White, cut out, ran through my Xyron 1.5″ Create-a-Sticker and adhered to the upper right hand corner of the sentiment panel.

It’s Saturday morning, that means….time to get out Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps and participate in the weekly challenge. This time we were to create a spooky card. I have to confess, that I messed up and created a card for last week challenge (Celebration card), but I think it kind of works for this challenge as well. I got some Halloween colors going and….forgetting a birthday can be kind of scary.

For my card I stamped Red Riding Hood in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on X-Press It Blending Card.  I colored her in Copic Markers( Dress: V12, V15, V17, YG91, YG93, YG95 Cape: BG93, BG96, BG99 Skin: E0000, E00, R20 Shoes, Hair Clips: C5, C7, C9 Hair: YR24, E97, E99 basket: YR24, E97, E99, E39). The cape was textured  with a piece of Natural Linen ribbon. The image was cut and embossed with Circle Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker YR21. It was layered on an Early Espresso cardstock cut and embossed with Lacey Circle Nestabilities.

For the card I used the Midnight Madness sketch challenge layout for this week. Two 2 1/4″ squares of Mitten Weather Cosmo Cricket Paper were stitched to two pieces of Early Espresso cardstock cut and embossed with Scallop Square Nestabilities.

A 4 3/4″ square of  Mitten Weather paper was stitched to 4 15/16″ square of white cardstock. The two smaller squares were adhered to the top right and bottom left on top of it. The smaller squares were decorated with Bronze Kaisercraft Rhinestones.

The sentiment comes with the Red Ridinghood image. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Xpress-it cardstock. It was cut and embossed with Petite Oval Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker YG91. More white cardstock was cut and embossed with Heart Nestabilities and colored with V15 and V17 as well and airbrushed with YR21.

Wish me luck tomorrow for my classes.
Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs and smiles

I am sorry I have been so quiet lately. Beginning of last week I was sick, then I prepped for a Copic Demo I held at Dick Blick last Thursday, then worked on videos. The last few days I have been prepping for my card class at a Simply Scrapbook next Sunday.

October is a busy month and I am not sure how much I can post. Beginning of November will be another Holiday Blitz tutorial week on SCS and I am busy preparing for that as well as upcoming Product reviews. Plus I will be going to the Intermediate Copic Certification in Chicago on the 22th of this month. I am very excited about that.

I had to make time to play yesterday. I hadn’t stamped in days. I used yesterday’s Hope you can cling to challenge as well as the sketch from Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge for this card.  The Hope you can cling to challenge asked to use something old and something new on your card. I recently ordered the new Flourishes Apples of My Eyeand the Eyelet Circle Nestabilities. After seeing the sketch from Flourishes, I knew I wanted to use both of those.  For my something old I chose an old Paper pack from Fancy Pants called All Fall and some brads I have since forever. I think they are from Making Memories, but I am not sure.

I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers (Leaves: G21, G24, G28, Apple: R24, R27, R29, R39, YR21 shadow: BV20, E59 (coloring silver brad). The image was cut and embossed with Classic Circle Nestabilities, layered first on a circle cut and embossed with the next size circle die out of Canyon Brown Neenah cardstock, Then on a cardstock piece cut and embossed with Eyelet Circle Nestabilities and airbrushed with Copic Marker YR21.

The card base is a 4 3/4″ x 12″ piece of Fudgecicles Core’dination Foundation cardstock piece folded in half.  A 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of All Fall paper was stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Canyon Brown cardstock before it was adhered to the card front.

A 5 3/16″ long strip of Neenah Solar White cardstock was cut and embossed with Eyelet Borderabilities. It as adhered to a 2 9/16″ x 5 3/16″ piece of brown cardstock, which had a 3/16″ smaller piece of All Fall paper stitched to it. The smaller piece on top is also patterned paper from All Fall paper and measures 2″ x 4 1/2″. It was also stitched to a 3/16″ piece of brown cardstock. Red Gingham May Arts ribbon was tied around the wider layer and topped with an old Making Memories Brad.

The sentiment is also from Apple of My Eye. It was stamped on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock that had been cut and embossed with the tag five die from Spellbinders. The center was airbrushed with Copic Marker BG000. It was tied to the ribbon with Butterscotch Waxed Linen. The ends of the waxed Linen were wrapped around my paper piercing tool to give it a twisted look. Mango Kaisercraft Pearls finish off the card front.

Have a wonderful day! Hugs and smiles

For my sample I used the A2 Card Box tutorial on Splitcoast to create part of Rebecca’s teacher gift for Christmas. I love working ahead. I created 6 simple thank you cards with matching envelopes. I hope the teacher will be able to use them to give to other parents as thank you for their Christmas presents.

The card base for each is a piece of 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Flourishes Classic White cardstock folded in half.  The big Winter Bouquet Image was stamped in Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was stamped with Walnut Stain into the lower right corner. A frame was embossed around the image with Classic Square Nestabilities. The envelopes were stamped with the smaller Winter Bouquet image in Antique Linen Distress ink.

For the box front I stamped the Winter Bouquet again, this time in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers (Lily: R24, R27, R29, R39, YG63, YG67, Holly: R35, R37, R39, G21, G24, G28 Pine Cones: E33, E35, E37 Pine Branches: BG93, BG96 Berries: BV25, BV29, G20, G21, G24, bigger berry leaves: G94, G97 more greens: YG93, YG97, G94, G99). The image was cut and embossed with the Classic Square Nestabilities and then airbrushed with YR21. It was then layered on an Early Espresso cardstock piece that had been cut and embossed with Classic Scallop Square Nestabilities.

The bottom of the box was created with Kraft cardstock, the top with Early Espresso cardstock.

Two 4 1/4″ long strips of Flourishes Classic White cardstock was cut and embossed with Eyelet Borderabilities. They were stitched to a 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of Holiday Webster’s Pages paper. A 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of a different pattern of Holiday Webster’s Pages was stitched to a 3 /16″ piece of White cardstock. The smaller piece was adhered to the bigger one and Red Silk May Arts Ribbon was tied around the horizontal strip and topped with a brown button. The layers were then adhered to a 4 5/8″ x 5 7/8″ piece of Kraft cardstock which topped the box top.

The sentiment is from Dove and Holly. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut and embossed with Petite Oval Nestabilities and sprayed with YR21. It was cut down just a bit and layered on a Early Espresso cardstock cut and embossed with Spellbinders Fancy Tag dies. To finish off the box front, I added Latte Kaisercraft Pearls to the top right and bottom left corner.

Splitcoaststampers invites you to join us for a very special celebration on World Cardmaking Day. Spend your Saturday in our challenge forum, where you can celebrate the power of a handmade card with our community, and just maybe get a surprise or two!Splitcoaststampers invites you to join us for a very special celebration on World Cardmaking Day. Spend today in our challenge forum, where you can celebrate the power of a handmade card with our community, and just maybe get a surprise or two!

To kick it off, Lydia, Lori and I will host a challenge today. But the campaign will go on all month long!  Mine is:

Thinking of Breast Cancer awareness – you can’t help but think about….boobies!! Now that might make you think about all the cute lingerie out there designed to show them off.

So my challenge is to get inspired by lingerie. Think lacy, think pattern, think satin and bows – have some girly fun with it!

For my card I started with an image from the Girlfriend Creative Scrap from Crafty Secrets. I layered it on a slightly bigger piece of Natural White Neenah cardstock. The next layer is a piece of Early Espresso cardstock cut and embossed with the Scallop Frame Spellbinder die.

A 4 3/8″ x 5 3/4″ piece of Webster Pages patterned paper was stitched to a 3/8″ bigger piece of Natural White cardstock.  Two smaller pieces of Webster Pages paper adhered together, lace was adhered over the smaller one and the pieces were stitched together. These smaller layers were adhered to the bigger one.

The card base measures 4 3/4″ x 6 1/8″ out of Early Espresso. To create that size, I cut one piece 4 3/4″ x 6 1/8″, another piece 4 3/4″ x 7″. The longer piece was scored at 6 1/8″ and the smaller piece was adhered to the scored tab.

To dress it up I created a lace flower out of Websters Pages ribbon and topped it with a Webster Pages Scalloped Sparklers. The sentiment is also from the Girlfriends Creative Scraps. I adhered it next to the lace flower. More rhinestones were added.

For the inside of the card I used another piece of the Girlfriend Creative Scraps, along with Websters Pages paper and scalloped sparkler.

I hope you have time to play along! Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs and smiles
